Synopsis

Kevin finds his best friend in an orphaned elephant at the South African reserve where his parents work. There’s just one tiny problem. He’s reached the age where he needs to go away to school because his unusual friendship with Nyeleti has shown that Kevin is in fact, a wizard, something his parents hoped they’d never have to tell him. Surprised? You bet he’s surprised! And while this opens a whole new world to him, it takes him away to where Nyeleti can’t follow. As Kevin’s absence lengthens, he may lose his best friend forever.

With the help of a village elder and an interfering Scottish grandmother, the magic of their friendship is restored. Kevin returns, ready to spill all his secrets but accidentally gives Nyeleti access to the wizarding world. A naked giraffe? Dancing cheetahs? In the resulting pandemonium, they discover that real magic comes from the heart.

A battle for the Overworld is brewing and I need to be there!
I used to be a regular kid, until I got stuck in Minecraft. But you probably know that, right?
Amelia and I are busy decoding the second clue when we get a request from our favourite farting creeper to join the battle. But there’s no way we can make it on time… unless we find a shortcut.
Along the way we meet some forgetful players, fortune-telling endermen and a witch who we highly suspect eats children. Or at least baby villagers.
Oh, and I take a lava bath. I don’t recommend it. But being a chicken in Minecraft can be fun. At least, some of the time!

After Winna's little sister breaks her glasses, her grandfather gives her an old-timey pair of spectacles that belonged to her great-aunt Estelle. The specs are silver and perfectly circular, with tiny stars on the bridge and earpieces that curl all the way around her ears.

    Best of all, they're magic.

Because when Winna makes a wish beginning with the words "What if"—that is, when she speculates—the spectacles grant it. Winna wishes she could see ghosts . . . and soon she meets not only the real Estelle, but Estelle's mother, Winona. Nearly a century before, Winona escaped from slavery and ran north with her baby, Key. But Key was stolen from her under mysterious circumstances, and now Estelle and Winona have a mission for Winna: Find Key.

He's still alive. He doesn't know the whole truth. And unless Winna can solve the mystery and bring him home, a powerful curse called the Burden will smother out their family's lives—and Winna's mom could be its next victim.

This beautifully written historical fantasy by an award-winning science fiction author offers new twists and turns in every chapter and will leave you looking at your own family's roots with new eyes.

21 LESSONS FOR THE 21ST CENTURY...

The central thread of this thought-provoking book revolves around the challenge of maintaining both our collective and individual focus amid the constant and disorienting changes we are experiencing. Are we still capable of understanding the world we’ve created?
In 21 Lessons for the 21st Century, Yuval Noah Harari analyzes the current and future challenges facing humanity. Unlike Sapiens, which focuses on the history of humankind, and Homo Deus, which speculates about the distant future, this book addresses the immediate present. Harari explores how technology, artificial intelligence, global politics, and human identity are evolving in the 21st century.
He argues that traditional narratives that once guided humanity—such as liberalism, religion, and nationalism—are being undermined by technological acceleration and globalization.
Harari offers a call for reflection in an uncertain world. Rather than seeking answers in traditional ideologies, humanity must cultivate a flexible mindset, promote global cooperation, and remain open to change.
