Summary

There it is again, hope. The defeat and the despair I can stand, but it's the hope that kills me, as if the Cause wasn't lost, as if Father hadn't died in vain. As if any one of us could possibly come out of this alive…
Following the death of his father, 13-year-old Archie MacDonald has lost faith in the Jacobite Cause. Having witnessed their clan's terrible defeat at the Battle of Culloden, Archie and his feisty cousin Meg flee back to Lochaber to lie low.
Or so they think.
Until the fugitive Prince's life depends on them.
When Prince Charles Edward Stuart looks to the people of Borrodale for help, will the young stable boy support the rebellion that has cost him so dearly?
With enemies closing in, the Prince's fate now rests in the hands of a stable boy and a maid with a white cockade.
Who will survive this deadly game of hide-and-seek?

    ASHA, Cosmo & Fluffy
    theway back home
    Book 2 of 6 – a trio reunited
In prehistoric Norway (5000 BC), siblings Asha and Cosmo continue their journey home alongside their newfound companion—Fluffy, a lost baby woolly mammoth who can speak. As they travel east toward a distant river Fluffy believes will lead to his herd, the trio deepens their bond through shared survival skills. Asha soothes Fluffy’s itchy ears with herbal remedies, Cosmo teaches stealth techniques (with comically poor results), and Fluffy impresses them by sniffing out food and water.
Their friendship is tested when a cave bear attacks their hillside camp. Fluffy bravely confronts the predator while Cosmo distracts it and Asha creates noise from a safe distance. Together, they drive the bear away, solidifying their trust in one another. That night, they realize they’ve become an unlikely family—a "herd" of their own—united by loyalty and shared purpose.
The initial opening credit music is “The famous 3”, which does run to approximately 2 1/2 minutes plus trumpets the talent of our heroes in a dangerous world using appropriate musical instruments, music type and mood. The closing music, “brave hearts, ends the story running to just over 3 minutes, harp, flute and drums suggest continuation of the journey into the next instalment.
The story and music itself runs to just over 1 hour and is narrated by claire francis, my wife.

“Charming, magical, and thoroughly delightful.” —Sarah Mlynowski, New York Times bestselling author of the Whatever After series
The first in a new series about magical matchmakers, Suitehearts #1: Harmony and Heartbreak is a feel-good light romance about two 13-year-old cousins and their first solo attempts at creating enchanted love connections. Perfect for young readers who love Whatever After, The Jumbies, and The Princess Diaries.
Cousins Rose and Cora Seville aren’t your typical eighth graders. They are matchmakers-in-training, learning how to magically make love connections out of San Francisco’s Hotel Coeur, where they live in the penthouse suite. As young Fledglings, Rose and Cora must perfect their charms and enchantments to pass a test that will determine their future, but they are not prepared for all the drama ahead!
Confident, cool Rose, the most promising Fledgling of her generation, thinks her magic can help her handle any assignment that’s thrown at her. But when she is faced with a bitter rival and headstrong Kindling, will she be able to rise to the challenge?
As for kind-yet-complicated Cora, she’s usually in her cousin’s shadow. But new powers that allow her to see others’ emotions might make her a secret weapon in the matchmaking world. Will Cora’s special abilities help or hurt her when a crush on a boy puts her matchmaker ethics on the line?
Full of magic and mishaps, Suitehearts is a new series from award-winning storyteller Claire Kann that will keep readers smiling and wishing for more.
