Beschreibung

While natural language processing (NLP) is largely used in search use cases, this book aims to inspire you to start using vectors to overcome equally important domain challenges like observability and cybersecurity. The chapters focus mainly on integrating vector search with Elastic to enhance not only their search but also observability and cybersecurity capabilities.
The book, which also features a foreword written by the founder of Elastic, begins by teaching you about NLP and the functionality of Elastic in NLP processes. Here you’ll delve into resource requirements and find out how vectors are stored in the dense-vector type along with specific page cache requirements for fast response times. As you advance, you’ll discover various tuning techniques and strategies to improve machine learning model deployment, including node scaling, configuration tuning, and load testing with Rally and Python. You’ll also cover techniques for vector search with images, fine-tuning models for improved performance, and the use of clip models for image similarity search in Elasticsearch. Finally, you’ll explore retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and learn to integrate ChatGPT with Elasticsearch to leverage vectorized data, ELSER's capabilities, and RRF's refined search mechanism.
By the end of this NLP book, you’ll have all the necessary skills needed to implement and optimize vector search in your projects with Elastic.

Flowers, and the fruits that follow, feed, clothe, sustain, and inspire all humanity. Flowers are used to celebrate all-important occasions, to express love, and are also the basis of global industries. Americans buy ten million flowers a day and perfumes are a worldwide industry worth $30 billion dollars annually.Stephen Buchmann takes us along on an exploratory journey of the roles flowers play in the production of our foods, spices, medicines, perfumes, while simultaneously bringing joy and health. Flowering plants continue to serve as inspiration in our myths and legends, in the fine and decorative arts, and in literary works of prose and poetry. Flowers seduce us-and animals, too-through their myriad shapes, colors, textures, and scents. Here, he integrates fascinating stories about the many colorful personalities who populate the world of flowers, and the flowers and pollinators themselves, with a research-based narrative that illuminates just why there is, indeed, a Reason for Flowers.

An updated third edition of the modern classic that applies cognitive science to the world of politics—to explain how our unconscious views shape our votes.

When Moral Politics was first published, it redefined how Americans think and talk about politics through the lens of cognitive political psychology. Today, George Lakoff’s classic text has become all the more relevant, as liberals and conservatives have come to hold even more vigorously opposed views of the world, with the underlying assumptions of their respective worldviews at the level of basic morality. Even more so than when Lakoff wrote, liberals and conservatives simply have very different, deeply held beliefs about what is right and wrong.

Lakoff reveals radically different but remarkably consistent conceptions of morality on both the left and right. Moral worldviews, like most deep ways of understanding the world, are unconscious—part of our hard-wired brain circuitry. When confronted with facts that don’t fit our moral worldview, our brains work automatically and unconsciously to ignore or reject these facts, and it takes extraordinary openness and awareness of this phenomenon to pay critical attention to the countless facts we’re presented with each day. For this edition, Lakoff has added a new preface and afterword, extending his observations to various ideological conflicts since the book’s original publication, from the Affordable Care Act to the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, the 2008 financial crisis, and the effects of global warming. One might have hoped such massive changes and challenges would bring people together, but the reverse has actually happened; the divide between liberals and conservatives has become stronger and more virulent.

To have any hope of bringing mutual respect to the current social and political divide, we need to clearly understand the problem and make it part of our contemporary public discourse. Moral Politics offers a much-needed wake-up call to both the left and the right.

“An intelligent take on the way politics is conducted in America.” —Publishers Weekly

“That conservatives and liberals see the world differently comes as no news to most, but Lakoff’s look into just why that should be so makes for interesting reading.” —Kirkus Reviews

It’s become increasingly clear that healthcare workplaces are filled with non-inclusive behavior. People who are underrepresented because of their gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and identity, disabilities, and other factors regularly face biases and challenges that hold them back from success. These include everything from harassment, dismissive behavior, and lack of credit for their contributions, to pay inequity, extra hurdles to advancement, and more. And while many organizations are looking to address these issues with top-down initiatives, there's also an important role for individuals to play in creating a more inclusive culture via everyday acts of allyship.
In this new book, inclusive workplace expert Karen Catlin brings her popular Better Allies® approach to healthcare workplaces.
Belonging in Healthcare provides a practical, research-based guide for how to be a better ally for coworkers who are from underrepresented groups. Filled with firsthand accounts from nurses, physicians, staff, administrators, and professors, combined with published studies, the book will help you spot situations where you can create a more inclusive workplace and everyday actions to reshape culture so everyone can thrive.
This is the book that allies in healthcare have been searching for: an industry-specific guide to the mindsets, strategies, and changes needed to make their workplaces more equitable from the inside out.

Sci-fi authors, Movie-makers and futurists have been dreaming Artificial Intelligence taking over for decades now. They have been defining the new horizon of robotic technology, artificial brain and artificial intelligence for a long time. However, what was their dreams, the researchers and scientists of the twenty-first century have turned it almost into a mere reality. Artificial Intelligence nowadays has surrounded us. Almost all the technical and some of the non-technical fields are improving pretty fast, holding the hands of Artificial Intelligence. From the auto parking facility in your car to the sometimes frustrating voice assistance application in your Smartphone. From defining diseases and their medication in the healthcare sector to our education system nowadays, you name it. Almost everything that contains the word *smart* before its name is been operated with Artificial Intelligence.
True is the fact that we are not going to make robots that are self-aware like they were in the Star Wars movies in the next decade (with these capable scientists of this century, it is safe to talk only about the next decade and not more than that). However, we are already using Artificial Intelligence not only in the technological sectors but also in different sectors of society like medicine and healthcare. Even in Education. This might isn’t as mind-blowing as it seems in your Smartphone and you don’t expect the humanoid robots teaching you in your class. At least not in the next decade like we said. However, there are some cases where AI has been involved with our education system.
There are a lot of Projects where the Artificial Brains have been helping both the teachers and the students to get the maximum out in return from our education system.
