Synopsis

With his fourth book due to be released in the Winter, Green Jr delivers his first of four demos to lead his audience into where his artistry has taken him. This nine poem journey details his visions on growth, the hope he carries in his dreams, and the nightmares that he fears shows glimpses of reality. The title " Hat Trick " was birthed from what he sees in his dreams. Throughout the project he speaks on how he never sees things or people as he once did. The  three different writing locations also played a part in choosing the title. Although this is only a demo, this deserves the same disclaimer stamped with any Green Jr piece, "Deep realities brought to light contained inside". Arguably his most personal work yet.

A pirate fantasy & fairy tale retelling for readers who love adventure on the high seas.
Pish. Pillagin', drinkin', and wenchin' are a pirate's callings, but don't steal from dwarves—they hate the competition.
Pirate life aside, all I have ever wanted was a safe place for the Lost Boys I rescued. Ambition may have led me to overstep my bounds. When my theft was discovered, the dwarves launch a devastating sneak attack against my island nation home.
This time, I've started a war. What can I say? I regret getting caught.
I stand ready to fight for my people, but the odds are grim. Hunting submarines with a sailing ship is a new one even for me. Guess I’ll be making this up as I go. Should I fail, those bastards will murder everyone, including the children.

The National Book Award winner explores the hidden dynamics of relationships with “lean, intriguing, formally inventive prose” in this collection (Kirkus Reviews).

A New York Times Editor’s Choice

In Heathcliff Redux, the novella that begins this collection, a married woman reads Wuthering Heights—just as she falls under the erotic and destructive spell of her own Heathcliff. In the stories that follow, a single photograph illuminates the intricate web of connections between friends at an Italian café; a forgotten act of violence in New York’s Carl Schurz Park returns to haunt the present; and a woman is prompted by a flurry of mysterious emails to recall her time as a member of the infamous Rajneesh cult.

With keen psychological insight and delicate restraint, Lily Tuck pries open the desires, doubts, and secret motives of her characters and exposes their vulnerabilities to the light. Sharp and unflinching, the novella and stories together form an exquisitely crafted collection.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain is an 1876 novel about a young boy growing up along the Mississippi River. The story is set in the fictional town of St. Petersburg, inspired by Hannibal, Missouri, where Twain lived.Tom Sawyer lives with his Aunt Polly and his half-brother Sid. Tom dirties his clothes in a fight and is made to whitewash the fence the next day as punishment. He cleverly persuades his friends to trade him small treasures for the privilege of doing his work. He then trades the treasures for Sunday School tickets which one normally receives for memorizing verses, redeeming them for a Bible, much to the surprise and bewilderment of the superintendent who thought "it was simply preposterous that this boy had warehoused two thousand sheaves of Scriptural wisdom on his premises—a dozen would strain his capacity, without a doubt."Tom falls in love with Becky Thatcher, a new girl in town, and persuades her to get "engaged" by kissing him. But their romance collapses when she learns Tom has been "engaged" previously to Amy Lawrence. Shortly after Becky shuns him, he accompanies Huckleberry Finn to the graveyard at night, where they witness the murder of Dr. Robinson.

Nightfire Books, a new horror imprint from Tor Books, is proud to present 35 audio-only horror short stories showcasing the breadth of talent in today's field.
Theresa DeLucci, editor of Come Join Us By the Fire, says, “We wanted this long list of stories to showcase the scope of modern horror, from the cosmic and Lovecraftian, the beloved undead tropes of zombies, ghosts, and slashers, to the more uncanny and internal terrors of isolation, lost love, aging, and one of the briefest, most distressing alien abduction stories you’ll ever hear (‘No Matter Which Way We Turned’ by 2017 Guggenheim Fellowship recipient Brian Evenson.)”
The authors also reflect the diversity of horror as a field, with selections from horror grandmasters such as Joe R. Lansdale; New York Times bestsellers like Richard Kadrey and Victor LaValle; exciting new voices including recent Bram Stoker Award winner Gwendolyn Kiste (The Rust Maidens), Cassandra Khaw, and Michael Wehunt; and literary crossover stars such as Carmen Maria Machado (Her Body and Other Parties), National Book Award finalist and winner of the the Lambda Literary Award for Lesbian Fiction.
There's something for every listener, so come join us by the fire and hear tales not to tell against the dark... but to embrace it.
