Synopsis

In the digital age, your children are never truly home.

When a fourteen-year-old girl vanishes on her way home from a school movie night, the illusion of safety in Kronviken is shattered. Her body is discovered the next morning in the frozen forest - a lifeless victim of a predator who lured her with a lethal offer: 'We're looking for the right face to front our new make-up collection. I'd like to get together and take a few pictures. This will be our secret.'

As Detective Inspector Maria Wern digs into the girl's digital footprints, she realizes the killer is already hunting his next 'face.' When a second girl disappears, the town's grief curdles into a violent, panicked thirst for vengeance.

With the media branding the police as incompetent and local vigilantes targeting the outcasts of society, Maria is fighting two wars - one against a digital predator who leaves no trace, and another against a community ready to burn everything down in the name of justice.

In a race against an escalating crisis, Maria must find the monster in the shadows before the town's rage claims more innocent lives than the killer ever could.
