It's summer of 1899 and the state of Wyoming has been unresponsive for an increasingly alarming amount of time. No mail nor telegram communication has ever been sent out or responsive, which has prompted the United States Postal Inspection Service to investigate. The inspector general has selected US Postal Inspector Jed Pluck from Boston, Massachusetts to team up with another postal inspector named Louie Secoli to investigate these towns along the railroad. The peculiarity of this case, in contrast to others they had investigated previously, is that the only evidence they have is a strange, large black-red feather, sharp enough to slice through skin.
Leaving his family once again, Jed hitches the train with Louie, and they set off for Wyoming. Upon arriving in Cheyenne, they found Wyoming's capital deserted—and covered in the very same peculiar feathers. The next few towns along the railroad all share the same description: no bodies in sight and covered in the same feathers.
Only one town along the railway has been spared from the disappearances. Lemonstown, a town near the Red Desert, remains active but unaware of the fate of the other towns. Fearing that Lemonstown would be the next town to be raided, the two postal inspectors must solve the mystery of the strange creature and help the townspeople before Lemonstown becomes the next ghost town covered in feathers

This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice. ADAM & EVE – Psychedelic Promise 1965 London
Book 1: The Summer of Colour

This first book of six is summarized as follows:

In the summer of 1965, shy, artistic Adam meets bold, free-spirited Eve at a Soho music club. Drawn together by their shared love of art and music, they explore London’s vibrant counterculture, from Carnaby Street’s mod fashion to underground jazz clubs. Eve introduces Adam to her eclectic friends, including a beat poet and a feminist activist, opening his eyes to a world of rebellion and creativity. At a secret psychedelic art exhibition, they experience the mind-bending thrill of first love and self-discovery. As the summer ends, they promise to face the future together, despite the looming pressures of family expectations and societal norms. The Summer of Colour captures the magic of youth, the freedom of the 1960s, and the beginning of a transformative journey for Adam and Eve.

This is the first of six audiobooks in the series, the next will become available in the very near future and I do hope you enjoy this first instalment, and it's only $3, all subsequent will remain at that price as I would not like price to be a barrier to your enjoyment.

I have worked very hard and meticulously to provide you with an enjoyable experience, the initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 2 1/2 minutes and prepares you for the start, synthesizer, bass and cymbals in a soul/funk form. The closing music ends the tale on a darker tone and at about 2 minutes and the same musical instruments, genre and industrial/fearful mood but with more caution added.

The story itself runs to about 15 minutes and is narrated in my own voice.

I do hope you and your family, if applicable, enjoy this audiobook and let me know what you think, there are a lot more to come!

“YOU women are always so sentimental!” said the Philosopher. “You overdo the thing. You carry every emotion to an extreme limit. It shows a lamentable lack of judgment.”
In the long, tranquil spring of 1914, we find a poignant prelude to a vanishing world. in a sun-dappled English garden, a battle of heart and mind begins. He is the Philosopher—a older man of cool reason and cynical wit, who dismisses love as a foolish overindulgence. She is his gentle but spirited companion, a young woman whose depth of feeling finds wonder in a blooming rose and mourns the fate of a fallen robin.
Their conversation is a delicate duel. He scorns her sentimentality; she meets his intellectual pride with quiet conviction. But just as the Philosopher finds his own disciplined heart threatened by the very emotion he claims to disdain, a rival emerges in the form of a young, impoverished engineer. This intimate conflict between head and heart soon becomes a fierce love triangle, as the engineer’s simple practicality and sincere emotion offer a compelling alternative to the Philosopher’s detached theories, tearing the Sentimentalist’s heart in two.
The intimate duel between head and heart, logic and sentiment, mirrors the larger tensions that would shatter global peace as World War I begins, forcing the Philosopher to an unexpected moment of reckoning and grace.
Marie Corelli was the greatest bestseller of the Victorian period, outselling contemporaries like HG Wells, Jules Verne, and Arthur Conan Doyle put together. Detested by the critical press and loved by the public, this book was written a year before she died, in a world ever-changed from the one that brought her to fame.
