Beschreibung

Platform Monetization Tactics explores how digital platforms can effectively generate revenue and maintain long-term sustainability. It delves into various monetization strategies like ad-based models, sponsored content, and subscription services, examining their real-world applications across major platforms. For example, the book investigates how platforms balance ad revenue with user experience, and when subscription models prove most viable.

This book uniquely combines case studies, industry reports, and analytical frameworks to dissect platform-specific monetization techniques. It emphasizes that effective monetization isn't a one-size-fits-all solution but a strategic alignment of business model, user value, and platform architecture. Legal and ethical considerations of each method are also addressed.

The book begins with fundamental concepts of platform economics and different monetization models. It progresses through specific strategies with dedicated sections, finally presenting a framework for selecting appropriate tactics based on factors like user demographics and competitive landscape, offering practical guidance for optimizing revenue generation and user engagement.

Financial securities, financial commodities and other such fungible items are traded in financial market. Transaction costs are comparatively low in such market. Moreover, prices of these items reflect their supply and demand as well. In financial securities, items such as stock and bonds are usually included. On the other hand, precious metals or agricultural products are part of financial commodities.
Economics however, defines market as aggregate of sellers and potential buyers of a specific item or certain service and transaction that takes place between buyer and seller. It means there are three main components to form a complete market body. Those are sellers of the item or service, buyer of the item or service and transaction that take place between these two parties. Such transactions usually involve exchange of a particular item in return of money, or other item / wealth. However, sometimes term market is used strictly to refer exchanges or organizations that work in order to facilitate trading of financial securities or financial commodities. Various stock exchanges and commodity exchanges are great examples of such organizations. These organizations can either be physical or electronic systems. Examples of physical locations are NYSE, BSE and NSE. They can also be electronic systems without any physical existence and NASDAQ is the greatest available example for demonstrating such system. Most of the trading related to stocks and bonds usually take place at exchange. However, corporate actions such as merger and spinoff take place outside or without a stock exchange. Moreover, if one company decided to sell their stock to other one with their agreement, there will be no requirement for stock exchange in such initial transaction.
Most trading of currencies and bonds are usually based on bilaterally. There are still many people who prefer to use stock exchanges as medium for trading, buying and selling stocks. On the other hand, there are also some people developing electronic systems that serve the same purpose as a physically existing stock exchange does.
Day trading is an important concept or say component of stock exchange and trading. In upcoming chapters, various aspects related to this concept will be covered with deep details.

The Game Before the Play - Power...

Do you really think you can win every negotiation?
If yes - congratulations, you’ve just entered an episode of Mythbusters.
If you believe negotiation is about dropping the perfect line at the perfect moment like in a Hollywood movie - sorry, that’s not how it works either.
And if you think everything was already decided in some boardroom and your talk is just a polite formality - you’re closer, but still missing the point.
Most negotiations are shaped long before anyone speaks. Outcomes are influenced (sometimes decided) by things like preparation, seniority, reputation, goals, knowledge, power dynamics, and how much energy each side is willing to invest. These factors matter as much as what happens in the room. Put them together and you realize what most people overlook:
There’s a whole game before the play.
This book guides you through that game using The Playbook Cycle - a practical seven-step approach that helps you:Set clear goals that actually guide your decisionsGather the right information (not just more information)Decode hidden power dynamics and motivationsBuild strategies based on reality, not optimismAdapt when circumstances shiftRecognize when not to negotiate at all
It’s a blend of simple frameworks, real situations, and a touch of humor. It challenges the idea that negotiation is just about arguing better. Sometimes it’s about reframing, aligning interests, or walking away with strength, not forcing a win in the moment.
Think of negotiation like football: everyone has skills, tactics, and stamina, but the real advantage comes from knowing when to push, when to hold, and when taking a tactical foul saves the whole season. This book is your coach: not for the visible part of negotiation, but for the mindset and preparation that decide everything before the first word is spoken.

“Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself; do not go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it.” —Bruce Lee  Bruce Lee was a brand well before that became commonplace. Step into the Dragon’s mind and explore how he thought about business, goals, and life.  The Bruce Lee Code focuses on the business strategies prevalent in Lee’s life and teachings that helped unlock his full potential. Bruce Lee’s attention to brand is a major reason why he continues to influence pop culture today. He was a pioneer, being one of the first Hollywood stars to start his own production company.   To recharge America’s creative and entrepreneurial swagger, we need to reexamine Lee’s life and teachings. Although he died in 1973 at age thirty-two, Lee remains a global icon who continues to influence the contemporary world in ways both obvious and subtle.   Lee was primarily known for his otherworldly martial arts skills and blockbuster movies such as Enter the Dragon and Fist of Fury. But he was also a man of incredible vision, willpower, and intellectual curiosity whose brief career inspired highly successful projects in Hollywood, sports, comic books, video games, and fashion.   In many ways, Lee resembled Apple cofounder Steve Jobs. Both men possessed remarkable self-assurance and a desire to disrupt the status quo. Jobs did not invent the computer, tablet, or MP3 player. Instead, Jobs’s genius was taking existing products and ideas and turning them into something better. Lee also did not hesitate to liberally borrow and emulate. He fused Eastern and Western ideas and techniques to make unique films that would appeal to worldwide audiences. He created his own unique style of martial arts and philosophies that drew upon a deep reservoir of historical and contemporary influences.   This book draws upon Bruce Lee’s extensive writings, including letters, journals, and business documents, as well as interviews with those who knew him personally.

Wine Wars II - The Global Battle...

Globalization has pushed back the borders of the wine world, creating a complex, interconnected market where Old World and New World wines and producers compete head to head. Writing with wit and verve, Mike Veseth (a.k.a. the Wine Economist) tells the compelling story of the war between the market forces that are redrawing the world wine map and the terroirists who resist them.

Wine Wars II begins by exploring wine globalization, where listeners follow "Missionaries, Migrants, and Market Reforms" to faraway New Zealand and learn how to unlock the secrets of their local retail "Wine Wall" by mastering the "DaVino Code." Globalization brings a world of wine to our doorsteps. Commodification helps us make sense of the resulting embarrassment of riches, but at a cost. Listeners must decide if they are Martians or Wagnerians, consider why "They Always Buy the Ten Cent Wine," and then probe the puzzle of "Outlaws, Prisoners, and the Great Escape."

Who stands in the way of the global wine market's assault on wine's very soul? Resistance is not futile, but that doesn't mean the future of wine is secure. A final section explores "Wine's Triple Crisis," environmental crisis, plus economic crisis, plus identity crisis. Taken together these crises pose the most serious threat to wine as we know and love it.
