From May the 7th, in 1682 till his death in 1725, Peter the Great or Pyotr Alekséyevich governed the Tsardom of Russia and ultimately the Russian Empire, collectively ruling before 1696 with his older half-brother, Ivan V.He got ports on the Azov and Baltic Seas through a series of triumphant disputes, creating the structure for the Imperial Russian Navy, ending undisputed Swedish control in the Baltic, and launching the Tsardom's development into a much larger empire that would end up being a major European force. He was the leader of a cultural revolution that saw some standard and middle ages social and political structures changed with modern-day, clinical, Westernized, and Enlightenment-based systems. Peter's reforms had a long-lasting effect on Russia, and tons of the Russian federal government's organizations can be traced back to his reign. In 1721, he changed the former title of Tsar with the title of Emperor, and he created and broadened the city of Saint Petersburg, which stayed Russia's capital till 1917.Peter the Great has had a significance influence on the structure of Russia, the history, and the future in the succeeding decades after him. Let’s see what else he did while he was alive.

It's uncertain that Howard Thurman made the remark often attributed to him, "I have been writing this book all my life," but there is little doubt that he was deeply immersed in reflection on the times that bear an uncanny resemblance to the present day, which give voice to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Our "life's book" is filled with sentence upon sentence of marginalization, pages of apartheid, chapters of separate and unequal. Now this season reveals volumes of violence against Blacks in America.

Ten Black women and men explore life through the lens of compelling personal religious narratives. They are people and leaders whose lives are tangible demonstrations of the power of a divine purpose and evidence of what grace really means in face of hardship, disappointment, and determination. Each of the journeys intersect because of three central elements that are the focus of this book. We're Black. We're Christians. We're Methodists. Each starts with the fact, "I'm Black," but to resolve the conflict of being Christian and Methodist means confronting aspects of White theology, White supremacy, and White racism in order to ground an oppositional experience toward domination over four centuries in America.

A behind-the-scenes book about the Uluru Statement From The Heart, from the co-chairs of the Uluru Dialogue, Professor Megan Davis and Patricia Anderson, AO.

The Australian story began long before the arrival of the First Fleet.
    We Australians all know this.
    We have always known this.
Australia finds itself standing on the edge of a 60,000-year-old precipice. The Uluru Statement From The Heart respectfully asks for First Nations people to finally be given a Voice - but what path led us here?
The story of the twelve Regional Dialogues and the Uluru National Constitutional Convention has never been told. It is a yarn borne from centuries of struggle, full of vision, determination and courage. These community gatherings, led and attended by fifteen hundred everyday First Peoples, represent the largest ever consultation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in history. The unanimous result was the Uluru Statement From The Heart, and its call for Voice and Makarrata.
Our Voices From The Heart is the official celebration of the grassroots campaign that guided us to this inspiring moment in Australia's history. It is a profound call to action for the nation, but is also an offering of peace and unity that recognises the past and reconciles it with the truth.
Filled with powerful never-before-seen photography and helpful information to share with friends and family alike, this book charts the world's oldest living civilisation's ongoing fight for constitutional recognition and is destined to become a treasured keepsake for years to come.
It's time, Australia. History is calling.
