Synopsis

In 2013, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, Myositis. My immune system had suddenly turned on me and was attacking all my muscles, it was very scary. I had gone from a very fit healthy person to someone who was struggling to walk. I felt like my life had been literally turned upside down overnight. The doctors told me there was no cause or cure and only wanted to put me on toxic medication. I did not accept that there was no cause, because the human body doesn’t just turn on itself for no reason! After doing my own research, I discovered that the cause was too many antibiotics, leading to gut yeast overgrowth Candida Albicans, which then leads on to Leaky Gut Syndrome. LGS is where microscopic holes are made in the lining of the gut, the lumen, by the yeast itself, then food is then able to enter the bloodstream and provoke an immune reaction. The great wise Greek physician Hippocrates said… All disease begins in the gut!Autoimmune diseases are on the rise all over the world at an alarming rate, yet the cause is being completely ignored and only the symptoms are being treated, with very toxic medications that can have lifelong side effects. This is my journey of how I challenged and defied the doctors and cured myself, by following an autoimmune diet and taking anti fungals to kill the gut yeast overgrowth. I no longer need toxic medication, I’ve simply treated the cause of my illness. I’ve written this book to share my knowledge and to try and help others with any illness, including autoimmune diseases and even cancer! If you treat the cause your body will recover to full health once again. Also included is the autoimmune diet that I followed, which got me back to full health.

The Roman Senate, one of the most enduring institutions in ancient history, traces its origins to the very foundation of Rome. Emerging during the early monarchy period, the Senate originally functioned as an advisory body to the king. According to Roman tradition, the Senate was established by Romulus, the legendary founder of Rome, who appointed one hundred of the most distinguished men, known as "patres," to serve as the initial senators. These men and their descendants formed the aristocratic class, later known as the patricians. The formation of the Senate marked the beginning of a political structure that would shape Roman governance for centuries.
The early Senate's primary role was to offer counsel to the king on matters of state. While its authority was limited under the monarchy, the Senate's influence grew as it represented the city’s elite and carried the weight of collective wisdom. Senators held their positions for life, symbolizing stability and continuity within the Roman state. The Senate's name itself, derived from the Latin word "senex" (meaning old man), emphasized the value placed on experience and elder leadership. During this period, the Senate did not possess legislative or executive power but acted as a stabilizing force, guiding the monarch through complex political and military decisions.
The transition from monarchy to republic in the late 6th century BCE marked a significant turning point for the Senate’s role. After the fall of the last Roman king, Tarquin the Proud, the Senate became more central to governance. The expulsion of the monarchy led to the establishment of the Roman Republic, where power was distributed more broadly among elected magistrates. The Senate, now composed mainly of patricians, gained considerable influence as a body that advised the newly formed consuls.

This book consists of three titles:
    - Blitzkrieg: The outbreak of World War II in 1939 heralded the arrival of a new era in military strategy, characterized by speed, surprise, and relentless coordination. At the heart of this revolution was Blitzkrieg, or "lightning warfare," a doctrine developed and executed primarily by Nazi Germany. Blitzkrieg was a military strategy that sought to overcome the static, trench-based warfare that had defined World War I. The tactics were designed to strike quickly and decisively, bypassing traditional defenses and causing maximum disruption. Its goal was not just to win battles but to create a psychological shock, overwhelming the enemy with rapid, coordinated strikes before they could mount a defense.
    - Operation Overlord: Operation Overlord, the Allied invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944, stands as one of the most significant military operations in modern history. Known globally as D-Day, it marked the beginning of the end of Nazi occupation in Western Europe and paved the way for the eventual defeat of Adolf Hitler’s regime. The operation was not only a turning point in World War II but also in the broader scope of 20th-century history, reshaping the political, military, and cultural landscape of Europe.
    - The Invasion of Italy: The invasion of Italy was one of the pivotal campaigns of World War II, playing a crucial role in the eventual Allied victory in Europe. Southern Europe, particularly Italy, was seen as a gateway for the Allies to weaken Nazi forces, divert their attention from the Eastern Front, and eventually push towards Germany. But the road to Italy was not a simple or straightforward one. It was a strategic decision shaped by both military considerations and political imperatives.

“Reconstruct[s] Civil War cold cases and crimes through the people who lived to tell about them . . . a unique history.”—MLive   “Crime did not take a holiday during the Civil War, far from it. As Tobin Buhk shows in this fast-paced narrative, the war created new opportunities to gain profits from illegal activities, to settle old scores against personal enemies under the cover of fighting the nation's enemies, to pillage, plunder, and murder amid the carnage and destruction that seemed to offer license to legitimize such crimes. Students of the Civil War will find new information in this readable account.” —James M. McPherson, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Battle Cry of Freedom   This history of the rampant crime that took place in both the North and South amid the chaos of the American Civil War examines cases including currency counterfeiting; the tyrannical actions of Gen. Benjamin Butler; the murder of Gen. Earl van Dorn; the Detroit Draft Riot; the Rebel plot to burn New York City; raids by William Quantrill’s Bushwhackers; the Fort Pillow Massacre; the horrific prison conditions at Andersonville; the fate of the Lincoln assassination conspirators; and more.  Includes photographs
