Non è necessario estirpare quanto di cupo si annida dentro di noi, quanto piuttosto riconoscerlo e accettare con esso una convivenza serena, dissipando la sensazione di sentirsi isolati e incompresi: se tutti ci sentiamo soli, allora forse non siamo davvero soli; quando pensiamo che la vita si accanisca su di noi ci dimentichiamo che si accanisce su tutti. Attraverso le strisce Joy cercherà un equilibrio fra buio e luce, con tutti gli alti e bassi del caso e la costante compagnia di amici più o meno rassicuranti.
