Beschreibung

As the need for economic growth takes a salient role in the political discourse of society’s welfare and progress, the middle class, as a social grouping existing within socioeconomic structures, has a multiplier effect – politically and culturally. The middle class serves a vital role in supporting a country’s growth through stimulating economic development and promoting a politically engaged society. By examining Vietnam and Serbia as ideologically attuned countries which differ in economic development, the author draws on functionalist, dimensional paradigms to underline how critical the rise of middle class is in understanding the political stability of modern societies before concluding that society’s sub-social challenges and cultural determinants do affect the course of development and growth. This comprehensive study will appeal to social scientists with interests in political stability, ideological states and development narratives.

The past two years have brought forth several aspects of international business. The more common elements that have unraveled include-complex supply chains, the impact of lockdowns in one region affecting production in another part of the world, and sanctions on one nation leading to shortages or crisis across multiple countries.
Given the nature, scale and complexity of risks, does it even make sense for a business to operate beyond its national boundaries? Or, in the case of large countries, for a company to operate beyond their geographical area of origin? In India, we have multinational corporations who have thrived successfully, and we have Indian companies which have done rather well internationally.
But what if mis-timed market entry, introducing the wrong product or service, noncompliance with Laws of the Land lead to failure of international expansion of a business? The terms "local" and "glocal" were often used nearly a decade ago, as companies began to customize products or services that are tailored to the a particular market. Automotive companies from Korea and Japan have done rather well in India using this approach. In contrast, why have US-based carmakers struggled in the Indian market?
If conducting business across geographies was complex before, then it has become more complicated today. In the olden times, some of the risks to factor in while trading across nations were lack of communication, unpredictable weather, piracy, wars, and strife. In recent years, these risks have taken the form of increased regulations, trade blocks, restrictions in the forms of sanctions, IP theft, and forced nationalization.
Does hypothesis is that "International Business is a good approach for a business to grow" still hold merit in today's scenario?

The origin of the Austrian School of economics is the publication of Carl Menger’s Principles of Economics in 1871. Menger, William Stanley Jevons, and Léon Walras are considered the co-founders of the “marginal revolution” in economics, a shift to the marginal utility theory of value from the labour theory of value. The revolutionists argued that value is not based on the amount of labour expended but reflects how useful people perceive the commodity to be in satisfying their ends.
This revolution had radical implications for the way economists understood the world: consumer valuations, and not the amount of effort, is what determines prices. But what determines consumer valuations? This question had long perplexed social scientists. Why do consumers value diamonds, a luxury item, more than water, an essential for life? By introducing the concept of marginal utility, Menger and his co-revolutionaries were able to resolve this paradox.
The labour theory of value, however, was not Menger’s only target in his Principles. He was also engaging the German Historical School, which held that economic science is incapable of producing universal principles. In contrast, Menger, using marginal utility analysis as a foundation, argued that universal economic laws do apply across time and geographic space. Those in the German Historical School took issue with the claims by Menger and his colleagues about the possibility of universal theory and labeled them the “Austrian School” because they taught at the University of Vienna.
Subsequent generations of scholars have developed the insights of the Austrian School. The purpose of this book is to present an overview of the key tenets of Austrian economics by synthesizing the insights from these thinkers in a set of eight topics that capture the core elements of Austrian economics.
