“Crimes possess all the basic factors of a work of art—approach, conception, technique, imagination, attack, method, and organization.”
The Benson Murder Case introduces S. S. Van Dine’s brilliant and iconic detective to the world in one of the most popular detective novels of the twentieth century, inspired by the real-life murder of a famous bridge player.
Alvin Benson is found slumped over an easy chair in a room locked from the inside with a bullet in his head, and Wall Street and the high society of Manhattan are set ablaze with the news of the playboy stockbroker’s death. But when NYPD’s top detectives and ballistics experts can’t solve the mystery, it falls to Philo Vance, an art connoisseur and amateur sleuth, to find the killer. Vance’s intellectual and artistic background helps him uncover a series of odd clues, starting with a missing toupee and false teeth, and soon he is delving deep into the case. In a Holmesian display of deduction, Vance also uses a recreation of the crime scene to determine several details about the killer—even down to their height. But he will have to uncover more than these small but vital details in order to find the real killer, deconstruct their alibi, and prove beyond a reasonable doubt that they in fact killed Alvin Benson.

Mounted: Book 5 in the Agent Rawlings Series of FBI Thrillers.
When a package containing macabre photos of four dead women is mailed to a Louisville newspaper, the Manassas FBI office is called upon. Agents Hank Rawlings and Beth Harper are immediately dispatched to the scene.
The man responsible for the murders, along with horrific acts upon the remains, has referred to himself as The Sportsman. A letter included with the photos pledges more killings to come.
In Louisville, Hank and Beth work diligently to track down every hint of a lead. However, with each new piece of evidence uncovered, the investigation only raises more questions—questions they simply don't have answers to.
For the killer, the dead women, as well as his tinkering with their remains, was merely preparation for a larger goal—something he'd promised someone years before.

Ace Ventura meets the Addams Family!
A shambling horde of new cases hits Dan Shamble, Zombie P.I. in the Unnatural Quarter. Dan and his gang—including his ghost girlfriend, feisty lawyer partner, cop best friend, and little vampire half-daughter Alvina—are out to seek justice, solve mysteries, and keep their heads on straight … or at least attached.
Alvina’s singing lessons for the Banshee Tabernacle Choir end on a sour note when the troll choir director plunges to her death from a high belfry, and the only witness is a deaf-as-a-post gargoyle who sits too close to the loud bells.
A frustrated imp, woefully unsuccessful in betting on the nightmare races, is dead certain that his bookie BatGN (GN for “gender neutral” to avoid copyright issues) is cheating him.
Francine, the salty bartender at the Goblin Tavern, is worried when One Fang the vampire—her on-again, off-again suitor—disappears without a trace.
A shady vendor discovers a market for living shrunken heads that are conversational as well as decorative, but the demand by far exceeds the supply.
A heartless therapist has ulterior motives when she counsels zombies, distracting them from their woes to concentrate not just on brains, but on self-improvement as well.
There is much at stake in the Unnatural Quarter, and it’s up to Dan Shamble to keep the streets dark and safe for monsters and humans alike. After all, the cases don’t solve themselves!
This zombie detective puts the P.I. back in R.I.P.

At the town's traditional kick-off to summer party, "Strawberry Moon," Jack Malone, the town's parodical son, surprises the population with his appearance. He's the best baseball player the whole of New England has ever produced, and he now plays professional baseball in Los Angeles. He hasn't been home in years but has returned home to marry a local girl. He taps Kate to be his wedding planner, and she couldn't be happier; what a boon this will be for her business!     Jack reconnects with old friends and apparently old enemies, too, as his body is found in the Connecticut River on his third day home. Jack's high school girlfriend and Kate's best friend, Jen, is the prime suspect. She can't or won't give an alibi for the time of Jack's death. But she's not the only person who looks guilty. A new business partner has come to Eastbury looking for Jack, claiming Jack cheated him in a business deal gone wrong. Then there's the high school rival who lost everything in a decade's old confrontation with Jack. The state police leading the investigation into Jack's death feel certain Jen is their killer, so Kate has to act. If Jen won't help herself, Kate will have to step in to save her, but this won't help her fledgling relationship with her old/new love, Brian, who is Eastbury's lead detective.
