Synopsis

చిన్న కథలను అత్యంత వినోదాత్మకంగా మరియు ఆలోచింపజేసేలా రాయడం లో సిద్ధహస్తులు అడివి బాపిరాజు. చిన్న కథా సంకలనాలని ఆయన పాఠకుల ముందుకు తీసుకొచ్చి పెద్ద సంచలనం సృష్టించారు. ఆయన సంకలనాలు అన్నీ ప్రజాదరణ పొందినవే. అందులో ఒకటి 'అంశుమతి'. అంశుమతి ఒక చారిత్రాత్మిక నవల. పద్దెనిమిదేళ్ల అంశుమతి ని వివాహమాడాలని ఆనాటి రాజకుమారులు అనేక మంది రాయబారాలు పంపేవారు ఆమె తండ్రి అయిన శ్రీ మంచాన భట్టారక మహారాజు వద్దకు. అయినను ఆమె వారినందరినీ కాదని కుబ్జ విష్ణువర్ధన విషమసిద్ధి ని పరిణయమాడింది. ఆ తర్వాత ఆతడు ఆంధ్రచాళుక్య సామ్రాజ్యమును సంస్థాపించి, ఒక మహావంశమునకు మూలపురుషుడయ్యాడు. అప్పటి కాలమాన పరిస్థితులని విన్న వారే కానీ చూసిన వారు ఎవ్వరు లేరు. కానీ బాపిరాజు ఆ విషయాలన్నీ సమగ్రమంగా కళ్ళకి కట్టినట్టు గా చూపించాడు బాపిరాజు.

The best part of it is that no one has seen the societal situations back then but the writer presented them to us in the best possible manner that we believe what we read. The story tells about Amshumathi, the daughter of Manchana Bhattaraka. She rejects many marriage proposals but gets hitched to Kubja Vishnuvardhana Vishamasiddhi.
