Beschreibung

A recent graduate of the NYPD's cadet academy, Jimmy McSwain dreams of anything except being a cop. He has a complicated history with the police, and it isn't from a rap sheet. Years ago, his police officer father was gunned down during an off-duty incident, leaving Jimmy bitter that his killer was never found.

Now, trained in the art of law, Jimmy decides to embark on a new career: that of private detective. But he just can't get his own license; he needs experience. What happens will lead Jimmy into a part of New York he doesn't know, realizing he's the stranger in a neighborhood that lives by its own rules.

His mother, Maggie McSwain, is skeptical about his job but there's nothing she can do to stop her headstrong son from entering this shadowy new world. As a warm spring settles over the city, a twist of fate has Jimmy taking on his first case, one that is a time bomb ready to explode.

What he can't leave behind is the memory of his father, and the silver shield which he earned only out of respect. Can he live with his decision?

Jake Patt, bar manager of Smooth, is looking for the guy of his dreams this steamy-hot July, minus the local drunks and bad boys. So far he hasn't had much luck. Maybe Pittsburgh just is too small and he needs to think bigger.
To Jake's surprise, a handsome man walks into Smooth. Doing his job, Jake serves him his beer and learns his name and what he does for a living: Kailin Boost, a visiting bridge inspector. The two hit off well and spend the evening together.
Kailin is worth some good laughs and has a lot of charm, and there's nothing at all boring about the man. Before Jake realizes it, the bridge inspector spends more evenings at the bar, and Jake feels he might just have gained a boyfriend. When Kailin invites him to a Fourth of July party, fireworks begin to happen and he starts falling for Kailin.
With good things come the bad -- at least this is what Jake has learned in life. Enter Kailin's problematic baggage, Michael Benz. Michael's a world-traveling model with lots of muscle and money and a hardcore case of lust for Kailin. Which man will end up with Kailin, the average guy running a gay bar or a good-looking model with loads of money?

Sometimes one decision changes your life.
Javier made a mistake and paid for it with jail time and parents who won't speak to him. But with supportive friends and hard work he's back on track, holding down a job and going to college. He doesn't need anything else on his plate -- especially not a preppy rich boy who doesn't look like he's ever had a problem in his life.
Brandy made a mistake and now, instead of attending Princeton with his friends, he's at a city college full of people who seem to hate him no matter what he does. He's trying not to care. He isn't staying, so he doesn't need a friend -- especially not a macho guy who would probably beat him up if he knew how much Brandy wanted to get him naked.
Javi didn't know he was making a decision: it was just a moment's kindness to someone who looked sad and alone. Now somehow Brandy is eating lunch with Javier's friends and Javi is inviting him to parties, and he isn't even sure how the conversation led to Brandy's parents thinking they were dating. There's only one bed and bed is where Javi excels, but is hot sex enough to keep Brandy in his life when they have nothing else in common?

Lucas, a video game designer fresh out of college, never expected his presumably straight roommate Alexander to be such a kind and considerate person. Or so attractive. With each passing day, he finds himself falling head-over-heels for Alexander, both physically and emotionally. If he doesn't get his head out of the clouds, he might never finish his first assignment at work, designing characters for the new release of Battle Mages. He could even lose his job and have to move out.
At home, Alexander surprises Lucas day after day. He cooks him breakfast and makes him popcorn for movie nights at home. He invites him out in his new SUV for a fancy dinner. He even walks around the house shirtless, showing off his muscular physique. However, Alexander seems oblivious to Lucas's desires. This just makes Lucas even more obsessed with his new roommate.
To distract from his crush, Lucas turns to the dating apps. The grid is dead, except for a mysterious account, GloryHole85, who speaks as if he were a character in a medieval fantasy. He lures Lucas toward a series of mystical, glowing glory holes with the promise of fulfilling his every fantasy. Lucas will have to choose whether to enter the port-hole and explore his wildest fantasies, or return to his unrequited love for Alexander in the real world. Will a simple fantasy allow him to get it out of his system and go back to work, or prevent him from engaging with real life?

The tasks are simple. Everett Mulligan is there to collect the body. Kyle Bowman is there to clean up the scene. Easy peasy. Get in, get out, get gone.
But Everett, for all he can be on another planet with fourteen tabs open in his brain, isn’t stupid like the cops think he is. Something about this death scene isn’t sitting right, and he’s going to figure it out. Bonus? He gets to team up with the adorkable crime-scene cleanup guy to solve the mystery.
Kyle, ever the thorough and detail-oriented cleaner, can’t ignore the scene’s irregularities either. He also can’t ignore the seriously attractive himbo from the mortuary who insists they should work together to solve what the cops insist isn’t a crime. Especially when that himbo is also enamored with Kyle’s cats and fiercely determined to make friends with his cranky piranha, Steve.
There’s a reason this death isn’t being treated as a homicide, though, and there are people who are very motivated to keep it that way.
And they’ll do whatever it takes to keep the pair of amateur sleuths from uncovering the truth.

Once a literary bad boy, Professor Sebastian Swift now confines himself to teaching poetry at a quiet Maine college—and trying not to self-destruct.
When one of his most gifted students turns up bruised, frightened, and implicated in the murder of his powerful father, Swift makes a choice that could cost him everything: he helps the boy disappear.
Unfortunately, Swift’s lover—Stone Coast Police Chief Max Prescott—is leading the investigation.
Convinced his student is being framed, Swift retreats to his family’s isolated island bungalow to track him down and uncover the truth. But on a windswept shore where the past lingers like sea mist and loyalties blur as easily as footprints in sand, Swift begins to realize he may have misjudged more than just the case.
As suspicion deepens and the body count threatens to rise, Swift must decide how far he’s willing to go to protect someone he believes in—and whether his relationship with Max can survive one more act of reckless faith.
Because love, like poetry, is rarely simple.
And sometimes the wrong choice is the only one that feels right.
