Synopsis

A long summer has kept Jimmy McSwain away from the city he loves, uncertain of what the future holds. But upon his return, tomorrow quickly becomes a deadly today.
Jimmy has often done work for his sister Mallory's law firm, and this time the new partner and his handsome associate want to hire Jimmy to solve the mystery of twin brothers. One of the twins lies in a coma, while the other has gone missing. Aiding Jimmy in this confusing case is Brenden Hendricks, the young lawyer who just happens to have a strong attraction to Jimmy. Then murder rocks the Portnoy clan.
Meanwhile, there's Jimmy's lingering obsession with the criminal mastermind Mr. Wu-Tin. Jimmy is determined to bring him down, and the NYPD knows that. Brought in to assist the Special Task Force, Jimmy feels he's being manipulated, but this is his best lead yet. The problem is his partner assigned to the case: his ex, Francis X. Frisano. Soon Jimmy and Frisano are setting traps for Wu-Tin, even as the cornered man is setting his empire ablaze.
Complex, confounding, the duality in his life will test more than Jimmy's loyalty. It could rock his very foundation. Deep down he knows that by solving both cases, he's got a second shot at a new life.

Aspiring chef Taylor Gershwin needs a new place to live, and someone in his friend's apartment building is advertising for a roommate.
It sounds perfect. He'd be close to his best friend and it isn't too far from his job as a short order cook and the chef school he attends. Sure, the guy he'd be roommates with, Mike Hanovan, is something of a Neanderthal. A big brawny guy with a snake tattoo who also happens to be a cop ... and hot as hell. And Taylor doesn't exactly want to tell him he's bipolar. Lots of guys he knows don't understand mental illness.
But maybe this time, Mike will accept Taylor for who he is, stuffed sea creatures and all.

Hotel owner and part-time musician Zeke Bandy is too busy for love. His plate is full running the historic Bandy Hotel and upholding his family's tradition of offering refuge to strays and runaways. For fun two nights a week, Zeke also plays and sings traditional folk music with his rewritten gay lyrics at the Stonewall Saloon and for occasional celebrations.
Then at a gay wedding, Zeke meets Victor Longbow, who just might be the man of his dreams.
However, Vic isn't looking for love either. In fact, because of his upbringing in a strict, white foster family, Vic's not sure he believes in love. He's in Stone Acres to open a branch office of a national brokerage firm. He also hopes to track down a vintage photo of what might be his Native American ancestor.
After their paths cross, they become friends. Connected by their experiences as orphans raised by flawed fathers, Zeke and Vic wonder if their future could possibly hold love and family or if they are destined only to be lifelong friends.

After a decade-long relationship with a dominatrix he called Daddy, Emerson Whitney had begun to crave something besides submission. It came as a full surprise‚ submission had been so central to his early adulthood, to his trans identity. Dizzied by new questions of control and aging, and living in a tent while his relationship ends, Emerson stumbles upon an advertisement for a storm-chasing tour. For thrill seekers, it says. Unsure what else to do, he signs up.Daddy Boy follows Emerson as he packs into a van full of strangers and drives up and down the country‚ staying in Days Inns and eating bags of carrots from Walmart and wanting nothing more than to surrender to the force of a colossal storm. We had no idea where we were going, Emerson writes, ‚ just waiting for one cloud to pop. Roaming the prairie landscape of his childhood, Emerson recalls his adoptive dad, Hank‚ unflinching and extremely Texan, and his biological dad, who was rarely around. From the van's trash-strewn back seat, and in the face of these looming figures, Emerson begins to wonder: Did he want to be Daddy now?
