Synopsis

In "Pygmies & Papuans: The Stone Age To-day in Dutch New Guinea," A. F. R. Wollaston presents a meticulously detailed ethnographic study that chronicles the lives of the indigenous Pygmy and Papuan populations in the early 20th century. Employing a descriptive literary style, Wollaston weaves vivid narratives enriched with sensorial observations that illuminate the cultural, social, and environmental contexts of these groups. The book is grounded in the realities of its time, providing a rare glimpse into the Stone Age lifestyle and the ongoing impact of colonialism on these communities, making it a significant contribution to the field of anthropology and colonial studies. A. F. R. Wollaston, a British explorer and naturalist, spent extensive time studying remote cultures, influenced by his passion for understanding human diversity and the effects of modernization on traditional societies. His background in science, combined with hands-on experience in the field, equips him with a unique perspective that is evident in this work. Wollaston's keen interest in preserving the narratives of marginalized peoples underlines the importance of his contribution to the academic discourse surrounding indigenous studies. This book is highly recommended for readers interested in anthropology, colonial history, and cultural studies. Wollaston's in-depth research and engaging prose not only illuminate the lives of the Pygmies and Papuans but also challenge readers to reflect on the complexities of cultural identity and the repercussions of external influences on traditional ways of life.

“Dude…have you ever watched two guys kiss?”
I’m not sure how it happened.
Zack promised to teach me how to skate, but instead we ended up in his bed, fully nude while watching hardcore videos on his laptop. He thought it’d be funny to show me gay stuff, but it did something to my brain.
These days, my free time is spent alone in my dark bedroom. I surf the web for fringe content like “Hardcore Gay Findom” and “Gay MAGA Redpill”, but it’s not enough.
I keep going back to his apartment. He makes me wear a collar. He films me and sells the videos online.

From about 12,900 to 11,700 before present (BP), near Ice Age conditions returned to the Northern Hemisphere of the planet. It was a sudden shift from the warm temperatures that had prevailed for nearly 2,000 years. This period is referred to by archaeologists, geologists, and earth scientists as the Greenland Stadial, but it is more commonly known as the Younger Dryas. The Younger Dryas marked the end of the last glacial period, the end of the Pleistocene Era, and the beginning of the Holocene Era, which is the current era. It was a period of great change, when climate change happened quite quickly, directly affecting the flora, fauna, and humans of the Northern Hemisphere in the process. The impact on the human populations was perhaps most important because, in some places, it virtually destroyed emerging cultures, while in other places, it might have propelled humans to develop new survival traits and technologies later used to move humanity into the Neolithic era. Although scholars now know quite a bit about the Younger Dryas, many elements of it are still debated. Other aspects serve as a predictor of what humans can expect in the future.
There is, however, still plenty of information about the Younger Dryas that remains unknown or open to debate. Not all scholars agree on the dates of the Younger Dryas or how long it lasted. Even more controversial are the alternate theories about what caused the Younger Dryas and the effect it had on the Northern Hemisphere’s bio-populations. This book examines the background of the Younger Dryas, its effects on bio-populations, and how it contributed to the emergence of the Neolithic Era. Alternative theories will be examined and compared to more standard ideas currently prevailing in academia.
