"Always try to represent yourself as happy. Initially, it becomes your look, gradually it becomes your habit and finally it becomes your personality."

"Comfort is no test of truth. Truth is often far from being comfortable."

"Desire, ignorance, and inequality – this is the trinity of bondage."

In a teeming, often-suspect ocean of gurus, mystics, fakirs, yogis, perfect masters, and various other self-proclaimed incarnations of the godhead who have stepped foot on American soil over the years in pursuance of their spiritual ambitions, Swami Vivekananda was arguably the first, finest, and resolutely most authentic. A simple, austere man, he was a mountain of spiritual power made more impressive by his innate kindness, humility, and compassion toward all.

In this impossibly rare collection, the great master speaks for himself via a long-lost recording based on the philosophical, esoteric, and transcendent teachings of his beloved Hindu faith, or Sanatan Dharma (everlasting truth). Further, there is featured a profound collection of some of the swami’s finest thoughts on life and the spiritual path narrated by Sripad Jagannatha Das.

All in all, here is an intriguing, inspirational, historic audio biography of one of the most famous but yet, oddly, least known of the spiritual titans of his time and beyond. An absolute must for all serious yoga practitioners and devotees of truth. A true, unexpected spiritual treasure.

Are contemporary soldiers exploited by the state and society that they defend? More specifically, have America's professional service members disproportionately carried the moral weight of America's war-fighting decisions since the inception of an all-volunteer force? In this volume, Michael J. Robillard and Bradley J. Strawser examine the question of whether and how American soldiers have been exploited in this way.

Robillard and Strawser offer an original theory of "moral exploitation"—the notion that persons or groups can be wrongfully exploited by being made to shoulder an excessive amount of moral weight. They make the case that this exploitation accurately describes the relationship between the United States and the members of its military, and offer an in-depth analysis of some of the exploitative and misleading elements of present-day military recruitment, the moral burdens soldiers often bear, and the stifling effect that a "Thank You for Your Service" and "I support the troops" culture has had on serious public engagement about America's ongoing wars. Robillard and Strawser offer a critique of the pernicious divide between military members and the civilians who direct them. They conclude by arguing for several normative and prudential prescriptions to help close this ever-widening fissure between the US and its military, and within the US itself.

Bridging Our Political Divide: How Liberals and Conservatives Can Understand Each Other and Find Common Ground is an essential contribution to a better national conversation.

Psychologist Kenneth Barish explains the sources and consistency of our political beliefs and why we continue to disagree about fundamental issues in American life. He offers antidotes to the angry, repetitive, and unproductive arguments that now dominate our political culture. Barish teaches us how to listen, think, and speak about our political opinions in a way that allows us to understand each other's concerns, resist false dichotomies and ideological certainty, see new perspectives and possibilities, and find common ground. The concluding chapter shows how we can move beyond partisan divisions toward pragmatic solutions and a better future for America's children.

This fundamentally hopeful book is an essential listen for students in all areas of study, for professionals in the fields of conflict resolution, communication, political science, and social psychology, and for anyone seeking to improve the quality of their conversations with people who may disagree with them, in both politics and in their personal relationships.

The decision to write this book was driven by a dual compulsion that compelled me in two directions. The process of the work I worked through to create an environment in which women were being held to ransom made me realize that I needed to examine what was wrong with women in our society and what we were doing wrong to create what everyone was doing right. Initially, I wished to analyze both sexes' psychology from an empathetic interpretation and from a psychological perspective. This experience helped me gain a deeper understanding of the roots of the problems facing women today. Additionally, I have gained a better understanding of the role men can play in certain situations when dealing with these issues by providing them with support and mediation.
I believe that men and women are inextricably linked and forever entangled in a tussle, and neither one can survive alone without the other. During the first human settlements, the purpose of this book was to examine the role played by women in the early history of human settlements. It was to explain how they were portrayed during that time and to explore how they were deprived of the right to equal rights. This is why I have highlighted the importance of women, their emotional strength, their role in society, and how they make a valuable contribution to society at large. For these reasons, I have stressed the importance of women in society. Women make a significant contribution to our environment. If we refuse to acknowledge that contribution in ourselves, we will not be able to witness the progress we demand in our society at the pace we desire.
