Rodney Ackland
Rodney Ackland was born in 1908 and after training at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London, began his theatrical career as an actor and director in regional repertory and West End theatre. He started writing his first play Improper People at the age of fifteen which was staged in the West End in 1929. His subsequent plays included Strange Orchestra, The Old Ladies, After October, The Dark River, The White Guard and The Pink Room, later retitled Absolute Hell. He died in 1991. His...
