65 years old and retired with 3 children and 3 grandchildren. One of the managers of the 30th Anniversary of the Miners Strike Facebook page. A socialist who’d been a political activist since the 1984/5 miners strike and has worked in the voluntary sector for 25 years advising people of their rights and helping them through the complications of the system. She used the experience she had gained to make the book reflect the problems of everyday life in the 21st century.
