Jiddu Krishnamurti
Jiddu Krishnamurti (1895 - 1986), geboren in Südindien in einer orthodoxen Brahmanenfamilie, wurde 1910 von der Theosophin Annie Besant zum künftigen "Weltlehrer" erklärt. 1929 löste Krishnamurti den eigens für ihn gegründeten theosophischen "Order of the Star" auf und sagte sich öffentlich von der ihm zugedachten Rolle mit der Begründung los, dass keine Religion, kein Guru, keine Philosophie den Menschen zur Wahrheit führen könne. Auf Vortragsreisen in aller Welt inspirierte er mit seiner von Dogmatismus und Glaubensvorstellungen unabhängigen Sichtweise Tausende von Menschen. Auch heute noch finden seine Bücher weltweit große Resonanz.
