Frank R. Stockton
Frank R. Stockton (1834–1902) was an American novelist and short story writer who became popular during the late nineteenth century. Born in Philadelphia to religious parents, writing wasn’t viewed as a respectable or sustainable career. Despite objections, Stockton worked as a wood engraver before joining a local newspaper.
