Beschreibung

“For God, for country, and for Yale…in that order,” William F. Buckley Jr. wrote as the dedication of his monumental work—a compendium of knowledge that still resonates within the halls of the Ivy League university that tried to cover up its political and religious bias. Buckley’s harsh assessment of his alma mater divulged the reality behind the institution’s wholly secular education, even within the religion department and divinity school. Unabashed, one former Yale student details the importance of Christianity and heralds the modern conservative movement in his preeminent tell-all, God and Man at Yale: The Superstitions of “Academic Freedom.”

Sci-fi authors, Movie-makers and futurists have been dreaming Artificial Intelligence taking over for decades now. They have been defining the new horizon of robotic technology, artificial brain and artificial intelligence for a long time. However, what was their dreams, the researchers and scientists of the twenty-first century have turned it almost into a mere reality. Artificial Intelligence nowadays has surrounded us. Almost all the technical and some of the non-technical fields are improving pretty fast, holding the hands of Artificial Intelligence. From the auto parking facility in your car to the sometimes frustrating voice assistance application in your Smartphone. From defining diseases and their medication in the healthcare sector to our education system nowadays, you name it. Almost everything that contains the word *smart* before its name is been operated with Artificial Intelligence.
True is the fact that we are not going to make robots that are self-aware like they were in the Star Wars movies in the next decade (with these capable scientists of this century, it is safe to talk only about the next decade and not more than that). However, we are already using Artificial Intelligence not only in the technological sectors but also in different sectors of society like medicine and healthcare. Even in Education. This might isn’t as mind-blowing as it seems in your Smartphone and you don’t expect the humanoid robots teaching you in your class. At least not in the next decade like we said. However, there are some cases where AI has been involved with our education system.
There are a lot of Projects where the Artificial Brains have been helping both the teachers and the students to get the maximum out in return from our education system.

Grab those golden opportunities to develop kids’ love of learning—even if they hate homework.   For parents, educators, or anyone who wants to help kids learn and grow, The Teachable Minute reveals how to take advantage of every chance to Show, Ask, or Teach—in everyday settings and during common experiences. You can find those precious minutes at gas stations and grocery stores, banks and bus stops, on an airplane, at the hospital, the vet’s office—and in your own backyard. This book includes ideas, questions, and conversation starters for a wide variety of specific circumstances, whether at an ATM or an amusement park, along with tips on how to recognize a Teachable Minute in the midst of a busy day.   When we make time to Show, Ask, or Teach kids something as we accompany them through the world, we not only engage them and encourage them to pursue knowledge on their own—we also give them our time and undivided attention, forging a stronger connection that we, and they, will cherish in the years to come.

What if we lived in a world where everyone had enough? A world where everyone mattered and where people lived in harmony with nature? What if the solution to our economic, social, and ecological problems was right underneath our feet? Land has been sought after throughout history. Even today, people struggle to get onto the property ladder; most view real estate as an important way to build wealth. Yet, as readers of this book will discover, the institution of land ownership — and our urge to make money from land — causes economic booms and busts, social and cultural decline, and environmental devastation. Land: A New Paradigm for a Thriving World introduces a radically new economic model that promises a sustainable and abundant world for all. This book is for those who dream of a better world for themselves and for future generations.

The demand for highly qualified professionals with practical vocational education and training is increasing worldwide. However, many countries do not have a vocational education and training system comparable to the scheme in Switzerland. Vocational education and training is usually provided in schools, which seldom work together with local industry. Otherwise, it is implemented in individual companies and aligned to the specific needs of those organisations only. Generic, academic and soft skills are rarely provided.
This book describes the Swiss Vocational Education and Training Initiative India, its background, concept and results. The initiative is a response to the requirements of Swiss companies in India, which can only fully exploit their growth potential when they can employ better qualified personnel. A fascinating role concept for implementing the dual vocational education and training system in India was designed, implemented and evaluated together with the participating organisations, regional vocational education and training schools, coordinating organisations and the authorities. The results are very promising for expansion to other regions and occupations. The book also highlights the obstacles that must be overcome in such a project.

In Shared Voices, author and entrepreneur Heidi Raines shows how to systematically ensure the safety of patients and staff at healthcare facilities. Most medical errors occur because of flawed systems, not reckless practitioners, and systems can learn from errors. A just culture of care that protects everyone is possible through a framework of near-miss and incident reporting, equitable follow-up, analysis, and learning. Heidi, the founder and CEO of Performance Health Partners, has dedicated her career to designing solutions for healthcare organizations in need of knowledge and technology to deliver safe, equitable, and quality care. In this book, she argues that the way to foster more safety in healthcare facilities is to create organizational structures centered around reporting incidents and near-misses, then use systems thinking to resolve and prevent issues. And the best path to do this is to give voices to all healthcare workers by encouraging them to speak out and report observations about their work. Active staff engagement not only keeps patients and employees safe, but it also combats burnout and turnover. As points of care grow and training levels vary, it is paramount for healthcare leaders to establish a framework that sets caregivers up for success at every level and in every type of healthcare organization. Modernization may seem labored at first, but its longer-term results—including overall reduction in serious safety events, and the saving of lives—are ultimately the drivers of innovation. Shared Voices is Heidi Raines’ latest contribution to the world of healthcare patient and employee safety. She holds a Preceptor Faculty position at Tulane University’s Master of Health Administration program and serves as Board President of the American College of Healthcare Executives Women’s Healthcare Executive Network. Raines has received awards for innovation and executive leadership and was named one of the Top 100 Influential Entrepreneurs in Technology.
