The early history of Earth covers such vast stretches of time that years, centuries, and even millennia become virtually meaningless. Instead, paleontologists and scientists who study geochronology divide time into periods and eras.
What humans commonly refer to as the “Ice Age” is actually a series of fluctuating climate events that have occurred throughout the planet’s history. These ongoing historical phenomena are difficult to conceptualize because of both the time frame involved and the natural process by which they cyclically unfold. The Earth’s climatic clock repeats the maneuver over millions of years per occurrence, a number that is intellectually graspable, but not viscerally well-perceivable by most members of the human race. The process by which ice ages form is not relevant to any societal function, and therefore remains a mystery. Those who attempt to define it are often met with either apathy or defiant superstition.
As a basic definition, it may be said that an ice age is simply a period of time during which thick ice sheets cover vast areas of land. These sheets have advanced and retreated, at times taking over the entire planet, and conversely disappearing nearly altogether. Glacial ice formed by this regularly occurring process does not sit in a state of inertia, but moves dynamically, reshaping the geological features of the continents. Again, the time frame for glacial movement is far longer than any involving human activity, so close attention must be paid in order to correctly measure and interpret it for the modern day.

Louis Bromfield was a World War I ambulance driver, a Paris expat, and a Pulitzer Prize–winning novelist as famous in the 1920s as Hemingway or Fitzgerald. But he cashed in his literary success to finance a wild agrarian dream in his native Ohio. The ideas he planted at his utopian experimental farm, Malabar, would inspire America’s first generation of organic farmers and popularize the tenets of environmentalism years before Rachel Carson's Silent Spring.A lanky Midwestern farm boy dressed up like a Left Bank bohemian, Bromfield stood out in literary Paris for his lavish hospitality and his green thumb. He built a magnificent garden outside the city where he entertained aristocrats, movie stars, flower breeders, and writers of all stripes. Millions savored his novels, which were turned into Broadway plays and Hollywood blockbusters, yet Bromfield's greatest passion was the soil. In 1938, Bromfield returned to Ohio to transform 600 badly eroded acres into a thriving cooperative farm, which became a mecca for agricultural pioneers and a country retreat for celebrities. This sweeping biography unearths a lost icon of American culture, a fascinating, hilarious and unclassifiable character who—between writing and plowing—also dabbled in global politics and high society.

In particular, the importance of destroying the five bridges, and a drainage culvert, in the Dives valley are explained along with the importance of taking and holding the high ground to the north-east of Caen. These combined actions resulted in the protection and securing of the left flank of the greatest combined military operation in history; Operation OVERLORD.In addition to explaining how these objectives were achieved, this battlefield guide relates the battles to the area as it is today. The book contains details of the museums, memorials, cemeteries and associated organizations. All of which will unravel the history of the area to the visitor and armchair traveler alike. To further aid the battlefield tourist, GPS data is also provided for either satellite navigation by vehicle or for viewing on Google Earth.

In recent years it computing developed with great speed. According to scientist Gordon Earl Moore, the number of transistors on a processor would double every 24 months or so. Transistors are the fundamental elements for a processor to perform calculations. Therefore, this prediction known as Moore's Law means that the processing power of a computer would double every two years.
Regularly see companies like Intel and AMD launch ever faster processors. For this, it is necessary to manipulate portions of the increasingly smaller area. But there is a limit to this. When transistors are beginning to be made with only a few molecules, it is difficult to reduce its size further and thus increase the capacity of our electronics.
Therefore, quantum computing is the science that studies the use of quantum mechanics to perform computational processing.

Written by one of the country's leading experts on Heart Failure, this completely new book provides a personalized approach, information and advice, guiding you and your family towards getting optimal heart failure care. Heart failure still affects over 6 million Americans, fill our hospitals and consumes enormous healthcare resources in the US and worldwide. Much of the impact of heart failure is lack of process and coordination of care with patients firmly inserted as team members.
Dr. Silver says, "Strategic Heart Failure is a distillation of how my team and I helped patients and improved their outcomes for almost 4 decades. I want to share this approach directly with patients; they can help lead their healthcare, understand how decisions are made and improve the entire process of heart failure care."
Understanding of a few fundamentals of heart failure care, especially the metrics and language that guideline directed care is crafted from, patients and families can not only join their care team but become the CEO! This Strategic approach moves people with heart failure from patients to partners within a caring, coordinated and engaged teams.
Four prior editions of his books, Success with Heart Failure, elevated the understanding of the heart failure syndrome among thousands worldwide. His motivation for Strategic Heart Failure was his realization that his work on clinical trials, research, training other men and women professionals, serving on national guideline committees, being an Editor- in-Chief of a heart failure journal and even being one of the first Board Certified Fellows in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant was not enough. Even having one of the finest and most dedicated teams was not enough. It is critical for:
    The patient to be involved
The patient to be the team leader
The patient to speak the "Heart Failure" language and understand the rationale and process for every life impacting decision.
    Included is:
Where to start even before deciding on drugs and devices?
Who should be on your team?
What is the Patient Profile and why it is essential for all team members to use?
What are the various classifications of heart failure and why it matters?
What does HFrEF, HFpEF and HFmEF mean and why does it matter?
Why the majority of patients with or at risk for heart failure may not know of their risk?
How to use published heart failure guidelines?
What other chronic diseases commonly overlap with heart failure?
What are biomarkers and how should they be used?
And much, much more...including information on COVID-19, SGLT2 inhibiting drugs, lifesaving medicines including ARNIs, and technologies you may not be aware of such as blood volume analysis.
And the truth is that Strategic Heart Failure is an approach that is of value to anyone with heart failure but also can be applied to any other chronic disease. So, let's get Strategic!
