Beschreibung

Less of a rigid regime, and more of an organic attempt to eat a mainly vegetarian diet, The Flexitarian Cookbook features delicious plant-centric recipes, with options for incorporating meat or fish as needed.
Many of us are looking to eat less meat and/or fish, as the host of environmental, ethical and health-related reasons for doing so stacks up. The concept of not centring every meal around an animal-based protein is well on its way to settling into mainstream society. But out there, there is a whole middle-ground of home-cooks, placed somewhere between carnivore and vegan, who are doing their best to reduce meat consumption, but enjoying it on occasion when the urge strikes; the flexitarians. The Flexitarian Cookbook is a collection of delicious, modern vegetarian recipes, with simple options for switching in meat or fish, as the mood takes you. No longer will flexitarians have to juggle between multiple cookbooks or haphazardly hash together a meaty ending to a recipe depending on their cravings. Recipes include a warm curried lentil salad with crispy paneer and spiced dressing, but the paneer can be swapped for crispy prawns if preferred. A winter vegetable stew with herbed dumplings is substantial enough on its own, but this cookbook gives the option to add slow-cooked beef cheeks, if you like. A best-ever recipe for vegetable and lentil moussaka offers the option to swap the lentils for regular mince meat, while the Moroccan spiced vegetable tagine gives an option for cooking with chicken, if the mood so takes you.

Free From Gluten Bundle: 2 in 1 Bundle, Gluten Free Lifestyle, and Clean Gut One of the growing public health concerns today are food allergies and food intolerances. And because of this, you have probably heard more and more about Gluten and this Gluten Free Diet in recent years. Many people want to start taking better care and control of their health. You've heard of athletes or celebrities saying they've decided to cut out gluten from their lives and how they've started to feel infinitely better because of it. A study has found that the number of Americans going gluten-free has tripled since 2009. Today, there are 3.1 million people across the US who have gone gluten-free and 72% of them don't even have Celiac disease. Gluten is found all around us. It is mostly found in modern-day wheat, which is an ingredient in a lot of food we consume even though we may not be aware of it. Gluten can damage small intestines and make digesting wheat difficult. It can cause fatigue, nausea, diarrhea and other serious discomforts. Gluten is especially a nightmare for people who suffer from Celiac disease. But going gluten-free can also be beneficial even for those with no gluten sensitivity. Those who have tried it swear they feel better and have more energy. Gluten adds little to our lives but can cause considerable damage. This two-in-one bundle series includes the following audiobooks: 1. Gluten Free Lifestyle: The Ultimate Guide to Living the Gluten Free Life, Discover the Secrets to Excellent Gut Health and Weight Loss Plus Gluten- eFree Home and Shopping Tips to Help You! 2. A local favorite for fifty years: Recipes, stories, and photos from the New Orleans Creole kitchen famed for its “fabulously good food” (Mimi Sheraton, The New York Times).   Starting in 1944, Buster Holmes served up soulful cuisine from his French Quarter restaurant at 721 Burgundy for half a century. Civil rights leaders and street musicians, debutantes and doxies, and all variety of hungry characters would gather in his shop for the daily specials he listed in scrawling letters on a chalkboard. This collection of Holmes’ dishes includes his unmistakable and beloved red beans and rice recipe, along with hundreds of other entries ranging from shrimp Creole and Creole gumbo to turnip greens, fried chicken, deviled eggs, meatloaf, and—for the adventurous—preparations for such local game as marsh hare, possum, nutria, and squirrel. Historical photographs, anecdotes, and information about the restaurant and its history pepper the pages of this tribute to the classic Creole kitchen.Includes a new foreword by award-winning food historian Poppy Tooker   “I've made grits before but nothing like this recipe. It called for 2 eggs added to milk to make a cup, and baked in the oven for 40 minutes. I must say, these are the best grits I’ve ever had. Rich, creamy, and yummy, I’ll be making this recipe again.” —Reader Views
