Some excerpts from poems:

this is my apology poem
God
im sorry for having written so many poems
and so few praising you
 -----

the love-armies assembled
but i did not enlist
-----

im tired of soft poems today
i want my words to
jump up and stab a racist cop
put on gloves
sweat and bruise and bleed
help a migrant pick a thorny crop
-----

so what kind of bullets are you putting in your gun
america?
-----

if i'm hanging around
the wrong ol' town
i'm a spic
can i be american?

-----

i'm trying to put into words
the poetry that drips from your body
-----

may God bless me
with my own
nancy Reagan
-----

maybe everywhere
is in the middle of nowhere
maybe its all just physics
-----

what street
will be the last one
my casket rolls through
-----

pero la realidad es
el amor no es nicamente la belleza
los erticos fuegos en los cielos estrellados de Neruda
-----

qu saba yo
de la viscosidad del amor?

A writer returning home from Palestine to his wife is gently challenged as to where exactly his priorities lie.
'I wrote the play after a number of trips to Palestine working with young playwrights,' explains Grieg. 'It tries to capture the awkwardness of return, because the people at home have carried on and are sort of grounded, while you're kind of still in the air.'

The Seasons is a series of four long poems in blank verse by the Scottish poet James Thomson, each poem describing one of the four seasons. The poems are replete with various scenes of nature described with loving detail, as well as Thomson's view of the proper relationship between humans and nature, which anticipates the attitudes of the Romantics. "Spring," which was published in 1728, first brought Thomson to mainstream attention. He followed it up with "Summer," "Winter," and "Autumn," publishing all four as The Seasons in 1730. It is in large part because of the reputation he garnered from the publication of The Seasons that the critic William Hazlitt called Thomson "the best and most original of our descriptive poets." (Summary by Abe Nemon)

South Sanford only has one point of entry and one point of exit...
Trapped inside of South Sanford are poverty, corruption, media lies, and a human trafficking ring the city who live there are blamed for yet victims of. Nevertheless, ebony bombshell Shatima Thomas feels she's been led there by her spiritual guides to unite with the family she was separated from after her father was murdered by the police. In five years, all she's been met with are the desires of men and crooked cops who want to use her to get them locked up. Men are the last thing on her mind. She's too busy trying to protect her son from the abusive ex who got her pregnant and has been stalking her since. As he steps out of the shadows, she fears he has connections to her city's dark circumstances that she may not be able to shield her son from alone.
For Rahshaan Bailey, life is just something to do until he dies. Known on the streets as "Banger," his only goals are to find the son who was taken from him, and to get the pretty girl in his building to give him a chance. When he finds out he has a connection to her that goes beyond the lust he feels for the ebony bombshell, he makes it his life's mission to protect her and her son from whatever she's up against. If only she'll tell him what it is...
