Beschreibung

From rapture to rupture, from agony to ecstasy, from bleeding to healing, love is the alchemy of revolution and transformation. It is a song, a dance, a celebration and a creation. It is not a unique subject, but a subject so universal that it defines our very existence. In her debut collection of poems, IshQn does not attempt to define love as she believes that it is mysterious and mercurial. But having experienced the falling and rising herself, this book is a catharsis of her emotions, processed with a lot of love.

It reinforces that even though love is an uphill task, it is intrinsic and beautiful, and that every emotion it elicits – pain, anguish, anticipation, joy and passion – is so worth living, at least once in a lifetime. She makes you dive into them, feel them and live them through her voyage. The poems signify that pain is inevitable, but combating it, rising beyond it and upholding faith in love is certainly a choice. Through her sometimes heartwarming and sometimes heart-wrenching verses, she urges you not just to heal yourself, but also to rediscover your soul and its calling. The book conveys that love may or may not stay forever, but it leaves a blessing that stays with you, till eternity. Embrace it.

Poems written only from three-letter airport codes demand a new kind of passport. Every major airport has a three-letter code from the International Air Transport Association. In perhaps history's greatest-ever feat of armchair travel, Nasser Hussain has written a collection of poetry entirely from those codes. In a dazzling aeronautic feat of constraint-based writing, SKY WRI TEI NGS explores the relationship between language and place in a global context. Watch as words jet-set across the map, leaving a poetic flight path. See letters take flight (and leave their baggage behind).

Big Sexy Lunch is an irreverent, entertaining account of millennial philosophy and relationships. Roxy Dunn's observational wit and reflective self-doubt muse on sex, singledom, and falling in and out of love. There's a directness and an honesty to these poems which humorously scrutinises the conflicts and contradictions of being attached to someone and our ongoing appetite for fulfilment.
