Beschreibung

"Evenin', ma'am," a hunky, sun-weathered cowboy tips his hat as he walks by.

Olivia, freshly arrived in the 1800's old West town smiles politely, still taking in her amply filled corset - as he does as well- and crinoline filled skirt as a tumbleweed rolls by. Jane, her sister, similarly styled by the time machine, immediately feels the need to quench her thirst, and desire, as they follow the cowboy into the small town's hotel.

***Olivia and Jane, using one of their parent’s many homes as a crash pad after a late night out on the town, follow an odd whirring sound coming from their father’s study. Their father, for whom nothing was unattainable due to his billions, had somehow procured a time machine which the two young women put immediately to use. Suddenly modern day men seem boring when there are cowboys, knights, shapeshifters, vampires, paranormals, werewolves (just to name a few) to teach them a few new tricks in the bedroom…

James Allen (1864-1912) was one of the pioneers of the New Thought movement, the primary aim of which was to fuse the principles of psychology, philosophy, and religion into a protocol that could be applied to everyday life. Allen's works, in particular the celebrated treatise on the power of thought, As a Man Thinketh, have become established classics of motivational literature and have provided the foundation material for many programs in the self-help industry. Morning and Evening Thoughts is a collection of short sayings and verses from Allen's works, a section being apportioned for each day of the month. Although the book was compiled as an aid to reflection and meditation for the spiritual seeker, it also contains much material that is of practical use for all in dealing with the challenges of everyday life.

EDGAR ALLAN POE, is considered the greatest of all writers of macabre stories, was born in Boston, Massachesetts, in 1809. His father, an Irish-American actor, died the following year, and his mother, an English actress, the year after, in Richmond, Virginia. John Allan, a wealthy Richmond merchant, adopted him. When he was 7, the Allans moved to England, sending him to school at Stoke Newington, at age 12 they moved back to Richmond. He wanted to become a writer, but John Allan wanted him to become a lawyer. He failed to finish courses at the University of Virginia and at West Point Military Academy, and John Allan disowned him. Struggling to live by his writing, he became an ill-paid magazine writer, and at 26 married Virginia, the daughter of his aunt, Mrs Clemm, aged 14. They were happy together, and while married he wrote much of his best work. But Virginia contracted tuberculosis, and worry over her illness and their poverty led him to drink heavily. After six years of marriage, she died. Suffering a complete breakdown, he was nursed back to health by Mrs Clemm. Returning to Richmond, he made a determined attempt to give up drinking. In 1849 he got engaged to a Richmond woman he had loved in his youth. Travelling north to collect Mrs Clemm to the wedding, he stopped off in Baltimore, Ohio. Found there lying drunk on a pavement, he was taken to hospital, but died a few hours later. His poems and short stories have influenced scores of writers. He invented the modern detective story, and his tales of terror are as chilling and powerful today as they have ever been. The stories in this volume are The Tell Tale Heart, Hop Frog and The Premature Burial . BILL WALLIS plays the title role in the BBC Radio comedy series WINSTON, and performed in the satirical series WEEK ENDING. On stage he appeared in the satirical West End show, MRS WILSON’s DIARY.

Not everything they told you is true…
…because it was my job to ensure you never knew the whole truth. If the American people understood what really happened, the U.S. government feared life would have irrevocably changed for the worse.
In Space Chase, the premier installment of The Palmdale Files, former agent Harold Anderson reveals the true story behind a mysterious Lockheed U-2 "Dragon Lady" crash in the mountains of Nevada and the extreme efforts the U.S. government went through to hide what happened. Space Chase—also known as Event 21 Zeta—is the first in a series of forgotten and buried events the author once destroyed to protect the peace and security of the United States—events the government would rather hide forever.
Never heard of Palmdale? The author isn't surprised, and believes you never will outside of these short stories. The Palmdale Files share highlights from Harold Anderson's U.S. Air Force career, where he worked to defend the nation and the world from paranoid hysteria about unexplained phenomena and threats from above.
