Fight Like a Physicist provides an in-depth, sometimes whimsical look into the physics behind martial arts for sport and self-defense. Whether you are an experienced martial artist or a curious enthusiast, this book can give you an "unfair advantage" by unraveling the complex science of effective fighting techniques and examining the core principles that make them work.
In addition to breaking down the principles behind the punches, Dr. Thalken, a computational physicist with a long history of martial arts across various styles, applies the mind-set of a physicist to a number of controversial topics in the martial arts:
    ● Making physics your "unfair advantage," in the ring and on the street
    ● Examining center of mass, pi, levers, wedges, angular momentum, and linear momentum for martial artists
    ● Protecting the brains of fighters and football players from concussions
    ● Reducing traumatic brain injury in contact sports
    ● Overturning conventional wisdom on compliance during an assault
Dr. Thalken invites listeners to take a scientific approach to training and fighting, and provides all the tools necessary to get the most out of their experiences and make their training count.

Turn your Lousy Short Game Into Your Game Winning Moment

Let's be honest...being "just good enough" is good enough for your average golfer. They break par here and there on a weekend trip to the course, but they never truly get good at the game.

And by good, I mean breaking par each and every time. I mean sinking those "impossible" shots where your buddies' jaws drop. I mean never having to buy the post-game rounds of beer again.

That was my problem 20 years ago. I hated having an unpredictable scorecard, I hated being laughed at, and most of all, I hated losing.

That's when I got serious about the game. I studied every trick, tip, and tactic under the sun, and I can tell you, if there's one thing I learned at the end of it all, it's that the key to winning is all in the short game.

After all that studying, I finally realized (in the most obvious way) that if I couldn't sink my wedge shots, my game was over before it even began.

So over time, as I started applying these newfound short game tactics, my score got lower and lower. I got better and better. And most importantly, I started winning.

Fortunately for you, you don't have to read the two dozen books that I did to master the game. I took all of the best tactics & winning techniques to get your short game up and running, and jam-packed them all into one easy-to-read guidebook to take you from loser beginner to a rockstar on the course.

If your golf game is lacking that close range finesse, then stop right here. This is the only short game guidebook you will ever need, because, quite frankly, I've read them all. It's time to step up your game, take it seriously, and start winning consistently.
Inside This Game-Changing New Book, I Will Teach You...
•How to Setup for the Perfect Wedge Shot
    •The Shot-Sinking Short Game Stance
    •The Short Backswing Method
    •The Controlled Release Technique
•Reading the Terrain Like A Savant
•The 10 Toughest Wedge Shots & Much More!

When you have the the right equipment, the right advice, and the rarely talked about techniques that the pros use, you have all the makings of an amazing wedge game.

This is a 2-book combo, which has the following titles:

Book 1: When it all hits the fan, some know how to survive and some don’t. Knowledge and experience are at the root of survival in troubled times. We do not always know when those times come, so it can be useful to explore the possibilities of living off the grid, becoming independent, and living without water from the faucet, electricity, or internet.

In this book, we’ll touch on some of the most important elements of survival, such as:

    ·     Creating water filters
    ·     Getting clean, purified water.
    ·     Staying cool during hot seasons without technology or airconditioning.
    ·     Surviving in the winter and enduring extreme cold weather.

Book 2: In this short but informative book, we will focus on three essentials of survival skills:

First, we’ll talk about the best ways to purify water. This, alone, is something all people need to know. Water can make you sick or heal you and keep you alive. Knowing what you’re doing, is what will help you most.

Second, the book focuses on First Aid skills. If you ever get wounded, exhausted, dehydrated, or you encounter something like a sprained ankle or major bruise, what do you do? You rely on your knowledge and fix it! Learn how in this book!

Third, an emphasis is placed on finding water in the desert. Many misconceptions about this have been circling around on the internet. It is our mission to help you learn the truth: What works and what doesn’t.

Seek knowledge and you will survive!

Pickleball's popularity expanded over the years, and the game eventually made its way to other regions of the country. In 1976, the first pickleball tournament was played, and in 1984, the United States of America Pickleball Association was established. Pickleball is a popular sport that is practiced not only in the United States but also in the majority of other countries across the world.
You will require a few essential pieces of gear in order to play pickleball. The pickleball paddle, which has a form comparable to that of a table tennis paddle but is somewhat larger, is the most essential component of the game. The paddle is constructed out of a number of materials, the most notable of which are graphite, composite materials, and wood.
Pickleball is played with a ball that is comparable in size to a wiffle ball but has holes that are much smaller. Because it is not too heavy and can be hit with relative ease, the ball is ideal for players who are just starting out. Pickleball is played on a court that is of a rectangular shape and has a net in the middle to create two halves. The dimensions of the court for doubles play are 20 feet wide by 44 feet long, and the dimensions for singles play are 20 feet wide by 22 feet long.
The rules of pickleball are not too complicated and can be grasped with little effort. The first step of the game is the serve, which must be executed underhand and in a direction that is diagonal across the court. The team that is receiving the serve must wait for the ball to bounce before returning it, and the serve must land within the service court of the opposing team.

The Voyage of The Aegre is a dramatic true account of how a plan to sail a little fishing boat from the Highlands of Scotland down the coast to England turned into a trans-oceanic odyssey for Nick and Julie Grainger. It was the 1970s and their simple wooden boat was equipped with none of the aids modern yachts enjoy. Navigation was by sextant and compass, food cooked on a Primus, and weather forecasting by guesswork. Diligent preparation before they set sail eventually saved their lives in the violent storms and dangers they encountered, vividly described in this absorbing narrative. Their capsize at night in a fierce storm south of Tahiti and subsequent survival makes a gripping climax to the story. A born storyteller, the author has produced a stirring tale that ranks among classic sea adventures.
From a simpler age of sailing when you were led across oceans by the sun and the stars, this book deserves to join the classics. It is simply a top class read - Paul Heiney, Royal Cruising Club.
A terrific adventure - John Ridgway, 1966 North Atlantic rower, Round the World sailor, Adventurer, Author.
One of the greatest sailing stories I have ever read - John Quirk, Afloat magazine.

One of the most exciting footballers of his era, Vince Hilaire is a cult sporting figure. His career spanned over 600 games and included spells at Crystal Palace, Portsmouth, Leeds United and Stoke City, playing in every professional division.
Vince shared a dressing room with some of football's biggest names of the time, including Kenny Sansom, Mick Channon, Gordon Strachan and Vinnie Jones, and was managed by some of the superstars of British football. This book offers a fascinating insight into the methods of these managers, from Malcolm Allison and Terry Venables, with their free-flowing football reminiscent of the famous 'Busby Babes', to the contrasting rigidity of Howard Wilkinson's Leeds.
A trailblazer in the professional game, Vince outlines the difficulties he faced as a young black player making his way in football in the 1970s, and the dread he felt playing at certain grounds.Candidly detailing Vince's journey into and out of professional football, this hugely entertaining autobiography tells the story of the beautiful game as it used to be played.
