Beschreibung

Charlotte is a kind, little girl who loves to swing on the monkey bars and have lots of fun! But having glasses turns Charlotte’s world upside down. The bullies start being mean, and she begins feeling more and more like an outsider.

During recess one day, Charlotte decides to go for a walk and discovers a monkey in the trees. Looking closer she sees that the monkey is blue! As Charlotte and the blue monkey talk, they discover that they have a lot in common and a new friendship begins.

Charlotte’s story teaches children that being different is what makes each of us special in our own ways and that we should always be kind.

Then he and his parents receive a summons from the Shadowhands—a summons that they would be foolish to ignore—and Jaxter is thrust into the heart of the conspiracy. With the help of a few new friends and an old friend he would rather forget, Jaxter will have to delve deep into some long-buried and dangerous secrets.A "rich fantasy" (Publishers Weekly, starred review) with a family of thieves that "couldn't be more likable" (Kirkus Reviews), the Vengekeep Prophecies trilogy takes everything you thought you knew about prophecies and spins it into pure magic. A Through-the-Alphabet Celebration of Queer History in the US, from the Publisher of the New York Times Bestseller The ABCs of Black History   In this book brimming with P for Pride, writer and poet Seema Yasmin celebrates all the joys and challenges of queer history in the United States through lively, rhyming verse. This is a book of people, of ideas, of accomplishments and events. It’s a book about Allies and Ancestors, about Belonging and Being accepted, about Hope, Knowledge, and Love. About historic moments like Stonewall, and how it changed the world. And all about Trailblazers, like Audre Lorde, James Baldwin, Josephine Baker, Harvey Milk, Barbara Jordan, George Takei, Elliot Page, and Sally Ride. And ultimately, it’s a book to help kids learn a different kind of ABCs—not just words like apple, ball or cat, but rather the essence of what it means to be diverse, to be equitable, to be inclusive. That no one counts unless we all count, and how we must open our eyes and ears, minds and hearts, to hear everyone’s story and understand and celebrate their experience.
