Beschreibung

Emily Sinclair is a teacher in seclusion, reeling from the loss of several of her third-grade students by the hands of a shooter that opened fire on several classrooms within Marie-Glen Elementary.
While dealing with the anxiety of leaving her home and facing the people of the town, Emily is terrified by what is waiting for her outside that takes the shape of shadowy figures resembling her deceased students and the ghostly kids that she refers to as "The Pales" that get closer with every step she takes.
With her sanity in question, Emily seeks help from a psychiatrist, Paul Cusick, as she tells her story of being an educator of children that seemed unteachable to that fateful day in October. However, sometimes what we perceive as reality is skewed.

Alfred needs Dolls. Blonde, blue-eyed human dolls that will help him rewrite his past and change his future. Twins Angel and Bud are used to making do. Their dad is in prison, and mom won’t win parenting awards. Bud thrives on neglect, but Angel isn’t so strong.
Now they’re captives in a place called the Dollhouse, and things have gone from bad to worse. The Dolls are forced to re-stage old photographs, but satisfying Alfred is not easy. He has a twisted sense of humor and a violent temper that explodes when things don’t go his way — and sometimes when they do.
Angel knows that if she and the other Dolls are to survive this warped playtime, she can no longer be needy and afraid. She must prove how strong she can be — fast. There aren’t many photos left …

“This is easily the best novel I have read all year, hands down! I have never even heard of this author before and all of a sudden kindle is telling me to read this book and I’m blown away!”
“HOLY FREAKING MOLY . This book was so damn good in a dark, disturbing, messed up, spectacular kind of way! This book is like the definition of anxiety.”
“I love books that are dark and disturbing and this one really delivered. The author was great at describing everything, to the point that you often felt like you were right there to personally witness all that went on inside of the dollhouse.”
“There is some bat shit crazy stuff going on in this book and yet it left me crying.”

Ralph Adams Cram was a master builder with a secret talent for occult horror writing. This wonderful short-story shows a side to this famous architect that proves his own dabblings as a writer are just as noteworthy as the Federal Building in Boston, one of Cram's most famous building designs. Besides deco architecture Cram is best known for the Gothic revival movement, and is the architect behind dozens of beautiful cathedrals and buildings throughout New England. A true gothic at heart, his story of No. 252 Rue M. le Prince in Paris--where dark magic lurks and horrors await any who dare enter--shows just how dark this draftsman could be.

Robert Louis Stevenson is part of the rich tradition of Scottish literature and as well as classics such as Treasure Island he also wrote the dark, disturbing and schziophrenic Dr Jeckyll & Mr Hyde. It is thrilling in its horror and beautifully positions the dual nature of man as each side attempts to control the other.
