Sinossi

Best known for his poetry, William Butler Yeats dedicated a large part of his life to Irish folklore. His aim was to study the mythic and magical roots of the Irish tales, which resulted in this great "handful of dreams," as the author called it. "The Celtic Twilight" invites you into the eerie and puckish world of fairies, ghosts, and spirits. Its title referred to the pre-dawn hours when the Druids performed their rituals. Yeats wrote the book from stories recounted to the poet by his friends, neighbors, and acquaintances.

What's a good girl to do when life goes bad?

Tara Lancaster can sing Amazing Grace in three harmonies, two languages, and interpret it for the hearing impaired. She can list the Bible canon backward, forward, and alphabetized. And the only time she ever missed church was at seventeen because she had pneumonia and her mom made her stay home.

But when her life shatters around her and her reputation is left in ruins, Tara decides escape is the only option. She flees halfway across the country to dog-sit, but the quiet anonymity she needs isn't waiting in her sister's house. Instead she finds a knife with a threatening message, a fame-hungry friend, a too-hunky neighbor, and evidence of . . . a ghost?

Following all the rules has gotten her nowhere. And nothing she learned in Sunday School can tell her where to go from there.

The beautiful friendship between a saint and a beast is how God wanted to remind people of the holiness they can reach through prayers and good deeds.
Saint Gerasimus and the Lion is in the Stories of Saints for Children series written especially for children who want to learn about the lives of saints.
Saint Gerasimus of the Jordan ( also spelled Gerasimos or Gerasim ) was a Christian saint, monk, and abbot of the 5th century AD. Gerasimus was born into a wealthy family in the province of Lycia, the southern part of Asia Minor, but he left his family's wealth and worldly affairs to become a monk. Saint Gerasimus went to Palestine and settled in the wilderness near the Jordan River. There he established a monastery. He is known for his righteous life of asceticism and prayer. The story of Gerasimus and the lion, when the saint tamed the animal by removing a thorn from its paw and taught it obedience, became widely known in the Christian world. His feast day is celebrated on 4 March by the Eastern Orthodox Church and on 5 March by the Roman Catholic Church.

Hearing God's call to serve as a missionary in the French-speaking world, Joe Portale responded with excitement, boldness, and humility. His lifelong dreams were being fulfilled, and the land God had promised was within reach. But the journey was not easy. From spiritual forces in France to the perilous Sahara desert to war and poverty in Southeast Asia, Joe and his ministry team persevered through many challenges.
