Sinossi

When the tiger Shere Khan attacks a village in the Indian jungle, little Mowgli is separated from his parents. A pack of wolves accepts him as their own offspring and feeds him. Mowgli is raised by the bear Baloo, the panther Bagheera, and the python Kaa. They teach Mogli the laws and language of the jungle. After his apprenticeship, Mowgli is strong enough to seek battle with the tiger Shere Khan. The bestseller “The Jungle Book” from 1894 made Rudyard Kipling famous. In 1907 he received the Nobel Prize for Literature. “The Jungle Book” was filmed several times.

Kipling’s adventure story has become one of the most popular youth books in the world since Walt Disney’s wonderful cartoon. But it is precisely this apparent fame that distracts attention from this literary masterpiece that conjures up the exoticism of the jungle and the fascination of India like no other. The almost limitless imagination, the sparkling wit and not least the extensive knowledge of the Indian animal and plant world make up the magical charm of these stories.

The book is decorated with the wonderful original illustrations by John Lockwood Kipling (1837-1911). Its size is about 170 pages.

Step into a realm where light and shadow do more than collide—they writhe, twist, and wage war like two primordial forces battling for dominion over creation itself. From the forgotten depths of the world, an ancient power long sealed in the age of chaos stirs awake once more, sending tremors through proud empires and shattering prophecies once thought eternal. This sweeping epic will carry you across kingdoms on the brink of ruin, where thrones crack beneath the weight of ambition; into cursed sanctuaries where forbidden sorcery whispers in the language of darkness; and through lands torn apart by time, where myths still breathe in the wind and the past is never truly dead.As omens of catastrophe spread like wildfire, a new legend slowly takes shape—woven from the intertwined destinies of souls who were never meant to meet. Amid war, betrayal, and secrets powerful enough to fracture the heavens themselves, they are bound by a fate both glorious and terrifying. And when the final light falters and the sky prepares to be devoured by shadow, it is this invisible bond that will decide the future of every world—whether it will blaze with rebirth or be forever consumed by an eternal night. An expansive, atmospheric tale of magic, peril, and prophecy—crafted to ignite your imagination and pull you into a cosmic struggle between forces beyond mortal comprehension.

    Christmas Stories From...

Twenty stories were originally published in the Christmas editions of the magazines “Household Words” and “All The Year Round”. Some of the stories have little holiday sentiment and exhibit much of the indignation Dickens felt at the social and economic injustices of his day. Some of the stories were written in collaboration with other authors. The editor of this volume chose to omit those other chapters and include only Dickens' work. The result is that some of the stories are a bit choppy, not to say confusing.
