Sinossi

In "Broken Music," Phyllis Bottome intricately weaves a narrative that explores the fragmented lives of its characters, each grappling with the dissonances of personal and societal discord. The novel is characterized by its lyrical prose and rich emotional depth, reflecting the turmoil of the post-World War I era, a time teetering on the edge of modernity and tradition. Bottome deftly constructs a world where music serves as a metaphor for both harmony and chaos, echoing the characters' inner struggles as they navigate relationships marred by loss and unfulfilled aspirations. Phyllis Bottome, a prominent figure in early 20th-century literature, drew upon her rich background in theatre and her experiences as a war correspondent during World War I to infuse authenticity and urgency into her writing. Born in 1882 in England, Bottome's literary career encompassed a diverse range of genres, yet she consistently delved into themes of isolation, identity, and the human condition. Her personal insights into the tumultuous societal shifts of her time profoundly shaped her narrative in "Broken Music," exemplifying her distinct voice as an advocate for women's stories. This captivating novel is highly recommended for readers intrigued by character-driven narratives that delve into the complexities of human emotion and societal pressures. Bottome's resonance with themes of disconnection and longing encourages readers to reflect on their own experiences with personal identity and communal ties, making "Broken Music" a poignant exploration of the human spirit.

Two similar paths colliding turns into one inevitable outcome…

As a state police corporal, Owen Decker is no stranger to working undercover. Now, as a member of the Tri-State Federal Drug Task Force, his latest assignment is to wear a prospect cut and infiltrate the Deadly Demons MC.

Unlike previous undercover assignments, this one is personal. After his sister’s fatal overdose, Decker was left to pick up the pieces and raise his young niece as his own.

However, he’s not the only one determined to help take down the meth traffickers.

Out of desperation, Sloane Parrish finds herself going head to head with the notorious MC when her drug-addicted sister, Sadie, gets tangled up with them. Despite being in over her head, Sloane’s still willing to risk everything—including her own safety—to save her baby sister before it’s too late.

Unfortunately, the Deadly Demons have no limits when it comes to protecting both their club and very profitable enterprise. So when the people Decker loves end up in the outlaw MC’s crosshairs, he regrets the day he volunteered for this assignment. But he vows not to be the only one, he’ll make sure they regret that day, too.

Note: Beyond the Badge: Decker is the third book in the Blue Avengers MC series. It’s HIGHLY recommended to read this six-book action/adventure series in order due to the continuing story arcs (subplots). However, each book focuses on a different couple who gets their HEA. This series has no cheating or relationship cliffhangers.

From the author of Love at First Set, a new irresistible enemies-to-lovers, grumpy/sunshine queer romcom for fans of Delilah Green Doesn’t Care, about a wedding-obsessed city girl who inherits a horse farm from her estranged late aunt, and clashes with the cocky, unfairly hot farrier who thinks she’s going to run the barn into the ground.
Molly McDaniel’s life is falling apart. Between her day job as a barista, her night job at a call center, and her crushing student loans, she’s barely getting by. And that dream she has of starting a wedding event planning business? The dream that led to all those student loan in the first place? She can feel it slipping farther and farther out of reach every day. So the absolute last thing she needs is to discover she’s inherited a run-down, struggling horse barn out of the blue, courtesy of her estranged late aunt.
Molly is so ill-equipped to run the barn, it’s laughable. She certainly doesn’t have the money, time or knowledge needed to save it, no matter how much faith everyone who loved her aunt has that she will. But the more Molly gets involved, the more she starts to wonder: maybe the barn is a blessing in disguise. If she can sell the land, the profits could be the small-business seed money miracle she’s been waiting for. So what if she’s starting to love everyone in the mismatched family she’s found here?
Well, everyone except Shani, the resident farrier and family friend who took care of Molly’s aunt in her last days. Judgmental, grouchy Shani, who refuses to give up on the barn; who walks around like she so much better than Molly; who’s actually really good with the horses…and kind of thoughtful. And obnoxiously hot. And unfailingly loyal.
And suddenly, Shani has become an entirely different kind of problem, one Molly can’t possibly solve, not without risking her whole future, no matter how much her heart wishes she could.
