Sinossi

Accompanying the Channel 4 series, A Baker's Life contains 100 of Paul Hollywood's very best baking recipes, which have been finessed over decades spent as a baker.

Each chapter is filled with bakes that represent a different decade – learning the basics at his father's bakery; honing his pastry skills in the finest hotels; discovering the bold flavours of the Middle East while working in Cyprus; and finding fame with the phenomenally popular Great British Bake Off television series.

Thanks to this book (and its clear step-by-step instructions), recipes that Paul has spent years perfecting can be recreated at home. Favourites include garlic baguettes; feta and chive bread; chorizo and chilli Scotch eggs; mum's ginger biscuits; double chocolate Danish twists; and hazelnut cappuccino cake.

With photographs from personal family albums, plus many professional insights into and anecdotes that reveal what makes a great baker, A Baker's Life will show you how to bring the baking skills Paul has learnt over a lifetime into your own home kitchen.

You will learn from this book the many methods of making tea so you can replicate, customize, and totally ignore them in favor of processes that produce something more to your liking.
    About the Expert
Jessica Kanzler lives in the United States with her wife and cats. She has been drinking tea ever since coffee betrayed her in college, and she has never once looked back. Jessica’s love for tea has driven her to obsess about the stuff to the point that passion has become a full-time infatuation. Jessica’s favorite tea is Earl Grey, followed closely by Jasmine. She prefers her tea hot, her cups deep, and her company generally silent and about 40 feet away. Beyond her obsession with tea, Jessica also writes freelance with a specialty in technology and pop culture, and she is also a director for a literacy-focused nonprofit.

Explore the fine cider movement and the people and producers behind it.
"Felix is one of those heroes of local produce and producers, in his case of what I call true ciders. These ciders (and perrys) bear no relation in terms of provenance, endeavour, cost, landscape or heritage to the commercial ciders that compete for the mass market. The world is logistics and marketing, well for those big companies maybe, for Felix it's enthusiasm, effort and the lovely work of the local, "I can see the orchard from here", producers. So here's a book that opens the door to the past and, most importantly, the future." – Trevor Gulliver, Co-founder of St John, London
Think you know about cider? Well think again. It's not about the swill you guzzled as a student, or the so-called "flavoured ciders" that don't actually contain any apples. The contemporary cider scene is an exciting place to spend some time, as passionate makers celebrate tradition and terroir while also embracing seasonality, innovation, and experimentation to produce characterful drinks that are quite remarkable. Fine Cider looks at this modern cider movement, charting its beginnings and introducing some of the key players in fine-cider making, as well as guiding you through the characteristics of different apple varieties, the cider-producing regions around the world, the processes and techniques of cider production, how cider is an exceptional partner with food and, of course, recommending ciders you need to try.
