Sinossi

The Picture of Dorian Gray is a novel by Oscar Wilde, first published in 1890. When Dorian Gray's portrait is painted by his friend Basil Hallward, he becomes enthralled by his own beauty and desires to stay eternally youthful while the portrait ages in his place. As Dorian indulges in a life of excess, he becomes increasingly corrupted, committing various immoral acts and leading others to ruin. However, he remains physically flawless and youthful, as his sins and aging are magically transferred to the portrait. However, haunted by his own conscience and the portrait's grotesque transformation, Dorian sinks into paranoia and guilt. He hides the portrait in his attic, away from prying eyes. Over time, the portrait becomes more and more grotesque, reflecting Dorian's inner corruption. The novel explores themes of beauty, morality, and the consequences of one's actions in a decadent society.

A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man tells the story of Stephen Dedalus, a boy growing up in Ireland at the end of the nineteenth century, as he gradually decides to cast off all his social, familial, and religious constraints to live a life devoted to the art of writing. As a young boy, Stephen's Catholic faith and Irish nationality heavily influence him. He attends a strict religious boarding school called Clongowes Wood College. At first, Stephen is lonely and homesick at the school, but as time passes he finds his place among the other boys. He enjoys his visits home, even though family tensions run high after the death of the Irish political leader Charles Stewart Parnell. This sensitive subject becomes the topic of a furious, politically charged argument over the family's Christmas dinner. This is James Joyce's first novel, the semi-autobiographical story of a young Irish boy who struggles with family, country, and religion to become an artist and a man.

    Description:
Oh, Whistle, and I’ll Come to You, My Lad is among M. R. James’s most chilling and influential ghost stories — a masterpiece of creeping dread where the rational mind meets forces far beyond its understanding.
Professor Parkins, a staunch skeptic, takes a seaside holiday expecting rest and quiet. Instead, he unearths a mysterious bronze whistle at the remains of an ancient Templar site — an artifact inscribed with warnings that curiosity ignores at its peril. One careless blow of the whistle calls forth a presence woven from nightmares: a silent, predatory shape that haunts the spare bed and hunts the unbeliever who summoned it.
James conjures terror not through spectacle but through atmosphere — empty beaches, salt-stung winds, and a room where bedclothes stir with malevolent intent. This is horror born of scholarship, superstition, and the unseen prowling just beyond the candle’s reach.
Narrated by Amazon-bestselling horror author Jonathan Dunne, this performance restores the full tension and terror of one of the greatest ghost stories ever written. While the text is fully in the public domain, this narration and production are copyright © 2025 Jonathan Dunne.
Part of Timeless Terrors, a series dedicated to resurrecting the legends of classic horror, Oh, Whistle, and I’ll Come to You, My Lad reminds us that some relics were buried for a reason — and some calls should never be answered. 🕯️
