The future of the American economy is hiding in an unlikely place: the manufacturing sector While Silicon Valley titans dominate headlines, many of the fastest-growing, most profitable companies in the United States are firms you’ve likely never heard of, such as HEICO, Trex, and Casella. These booming companies belong to a burgeoning sector—industrial tech—that offers surprising hope to workers, consumers, and investors alike.  Their role: to make a range of products—aerospace parts, for example, or recycled plastic lumber—that quietly form the backbone of America’s biggest industries. In an age of instability, industrial tech is a cornerstone of our economic future. In this book, McKinsey veterans Asutosh Padhi, Gaurav Batra, and Nick Santhanam reveal the “titanium economy,” a modern, reinvented industrial sector complete with high-paying, domestic jobs;, soaring stock prices;, and critical infrastructure. They dispel the myth that the best of American manufacturing is behind us and illuminate an opportunity for a brighter future—if we can seize it.

‘Combines the natural history of programmes such as David Attenborough’s Planet Earth with the planetary focus of Brian Cox’s Universe’ Guardian
A beautiful, full colour book to accompany the 5 part BBC TV series telling the most important story of all, the deep history of our own planet.
With the trademark dramatic storytelling techniques of The Planets and The Universe, Andrew Cohen and Chris Packham narrate the biography of the Earth, revealing the most epic moments from its history, from the first seconds of its existence to the arrival of its most incredible inhabitants, us.
But humans take a back seat for this story as the Earth takes centre stage. We’ll witness those moments where our planet’s future hung in the balance in the face of massive bombardments from space, extreme changes in climate, the collision of whole continents and more, and we’ll tell the story of how Earth’s most incredible creations – life and intelligence – are set to have the same lasting impact on Earth’s story as any meteorite or earthquake.
This is the epic 4 billion year story of the place we call home.
Chris Packham's EARTH is a top-tier exploration of the evolution of our planet. This latest contribution to the science genre offers a new perspective, placing Earth and its history at the centre of the narrative.
For fans of Andrew H. Knoll (A Brief History of Earth), John Muir Laws (The Laws Field Guide to Sierra Birds), Hamza Yassin (Be a Birder), Isabella Tree (Wilding), and Alice Roberts (The Incredible Unlikeliness of Being).

"The Evolution of Software Development Methodologies: Navigating the Paths of Creation: An Overview of Software Development Methodologies," gives a comprehensive review of the tactics, procedures, and inventions that have pushed forward software development. This book explores the change in the development of software: from very structured and systematic approaches to flexible and dynamic frameworks characteristic of contemporary software development. This research book focuses on five in-depth chapters, discussing the turning points in this evolution. It starts at the origin of programming, when the fundamental concepts of computation and first coding languages emerged.
Then, the birth of structured models is covered with attention to the function of the Waterfall technique, creating methodical, sequential development processes. The discussion then moves on to the transition to Agile practices, where cooperative, iterative techniques transformed teams' approaches toward software projects. Hybrid models such as DevOps are also discussed in meeting some organizational objectives by combining conventional and contemporary methodologies. The new trends include AI-driven techniques and international team collaboration, where there is an extension beyond traditional frameworks.
Blending historical analysis, real-world applications, and futuristic viewpoints, this book caters to students, software professionals, and tech enthusiasts alike. It sheds light on the advantages, disadvantages, and breakthroughs of each methodology, thereby emphasizing how flexibility plays a critical role in a fast-changing technological environment. Whether you want to upgrade your know-how in the software development field or understand the challenges of developing software in today's fast-moving world, this book is priceless as a source of learning on the development of methodologies that power digital innovation.

Modern physics is the study of the fundamental principles that govern the universe, focusing on concepts that emerged in the 20th and 21st centuries. Unlike classical physics, which describes motion, forces, and energy using Newtonian mechanics and Maxwell’s equations, modern physics delves into the nature of reality at both the smallest and largest scales. It is driven by two major revolutions: relativity and quantum mechanics. These theories challenged classical assumptions, revealing new insights into space, time, and the fundamental particles that make up the universe.
One of the key differences between classical and modern physics lies in their domains of applicability. Classical physics works well for everyday experiences, from planetary motion to the mechanics of machines. However, when dealing with extreme conditions—such as objects moving at speeds close to the speed of light, microscopic particles, or immense gravitational fields—classical theories fail. Modern physics was developed to address these limitations, providing a more complete framework for understanding nature. Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity and the development of quantum mechanics by pioneers like Max Planck, Niels Bohr, and Erwin Schrödinger revolutionized scientific thought.
Several key experiments shaped the foundation of modern physics. The Michelson-Morley experiment in 1887 provided strong evidence against the existence of the "luminiferous aether," leading to the development of special relativity. Einstein’s 1905 theory redefined space and time, demonstrating that they are not absolute but rather interwoven in a four-dimensional continuum. His general theory of relativity later provided a new understanding of gravity, showing that massive objects warp space-time, a concept confirmed by astronomical observations, such as the bending of starlight during a solar eclipse.

    Introduction to Power System...

Power system protection systems have three basic components: Instrument transformers, Relays, Circuit breakers

The function of the CT is to reproduce in its secondary winding a current I' that is proportional to the primary current I. The CT converts primary currents in the kiloamp range to secondary currents in the 0–5 ampere range for convenience of measurement.

The function of the relay is to discriminate between normal operation and fault conditions. The OC relay in Figure 2 has an operating coil, which is connected to the CT secondary winding, and a set of contacts. When |I'| exceeds a specified ''pickup'' value, the operating coil causes the normally open contacts to close. When the relay contacts close, the trip coil of the circuit breaker is energized, which then causes the circuit breaker to open.

System-protection components have the following design criteria:
    • Reliability: Operate dependably when fault conditions occur, even after remaining idle for months or years. Failure to do so may result in costly damages.
    • Selectivity: Avoid unnecessary, false trips.
    • Speed: Operate rapidly to minimize fault duration and equipment damage. Any intentional time delays should be precise.
    • Economy: Provide maximum protection at minimum cost.
    • Simplicity: Minimize protection equipment and circuitry.

Since it is impossible to satisfy all these criteria simultaneously, compromises must be made in system protection.

The book consists from the following sections:
    1. Chapter 1: Power System Faults:
    2. Chapter 2: Instrument Transformers.
    3. Chapter 3: Overcurrent and Earth Fault Protection Relays.
    4. Chapter 4: Radial System Protection.
    5. Chapter 5: Zones of Protection.
    6. Chapter 6: Differential Relays.
    7. Chapter 7: Distance Relays.
    8. Chapter 8: Transformer Protection.
    9. Chapter 9: Generator Protection.
    10. Chapter 10: Busbar Protection.
    11. Chapter 11: Circuit Breakers.
    12. Chapter 12: Fuses.
    13. Chapter 13: References.
