Sinossi

“Thoughts in a Dream: The Empire and the Wyvern's Tears” by M. Martini is a fantasy novel published in 2024. It is a very original and really interesting book, which you can also enjoy in the playable version by writing to the email at the end of the novel.M. Martini immerses you in another dimension, leading to the completion of an adventure that is fantastic. The protagonist, after being injected with a mixture that has something magical, finds herself facing an extra-dimensional journey that leads her to be a spectator, and not only, of the political collapse of a continent.Reality and fantasy mix, or rather, this overlapping and fusion or the clear difference between the two worlds (real or imagined?) depends on who reads the book. This story can be interpreted as you want, which makes the work more interesting. After having learned the history of the kingdom we are going to read about, with the power struggles and the various changes it underwent during the past eras, we get to the heart of the story.Without wanting to go into the details of the plot, complex, well thought out and reported, I would just like to propose the elements that make this novel a great story, embellished with images.Battles, mysteries, fights, magic, strange plots, the will and desire to bring about the rebirth of something that no longer exists. Conquest, power, wars, sacrifice and a sort of call to the society we live in, make “Thoughts in a Dream: The Empire and the Wyvern's Tears” a truly beautiful book.Review written by Editorial Staff - RecensioneLibro.it :The tone of the novel “Thoughts in a Dream: The Empire and the Wyvern's Tears” is epic and tragic. The author develops his characters and their psychological dynamics very well. The struggle between good and evil, always present in fantasy, is intertwined with more intimate reflections, which are based on bonds, suffering and hope. This novel mixes various elements very well: adventure and magic first of all, creating an intense and engaging narration. The balance between power, magic and dark forces are constantly threatened in this story, but the evolution is surprising. The plot revolves around various characters, each with their own narrative arc that is always intertwined with the fate of the empire. The protagonists must face enormous challenges and make difficult choices to try to save what remains. The author Mattia Martini uses evocative writing, full of detailed descriptions that immerse the reader in a mysterious world, but also in an emotional journey that touches on fundamental themes such as sacrifice, the fight for freedom and the value of relationships. Finally, the book takes the reader by the hand and leads him to reflect on our existence and on what is possible or impossible to do to extend our life making our time happy.

The narrator of Hogg is a Huck Finn–like youngster caught in society’s most sinister seams—but unlike Huck, he passes no moral judgments on the violence he takes part in . . .Hogg is the story of a man—a depraved trucker named Franklin Hargus, whom the people he works for call Hogg—and of the nameless boy who tells the story of three days of unspeakable sexual violence and devastation, which, together, they initiate in a small seaside American city in the middle of the last century. Hogg is a towering brute who makes his living as a rapist for hire. By the end of a series of vicious attacks, kidnappings, and mass murders, the reader will wonder who is more corrupt: the man or the boy.   Samuel R. Delany completed his first draft of Hogg within a day, if not within hours, of the 1969 Stonewall Riots in New York City and revised it over the next four years, though it was not released until 1995.

After the death of her husband, Miriam retreats into the quiet rhythm of quiltmaking and life on the farm. Each stitch is a thread of memory, a safeguard against a world that has taken too much. Her days are measured in silence—safe, predictable, untouched by risk.

    Then Levi returns.

Her late husband’s cousin, long absent from the community, arrives to help with the harvest. He brings quiet strength, gentle hands, and a past that lingers like unfinished seams. Miriam never asked for company, especially not from someone who once cared too much, too silently.

Levi has carried his own burden of guilt for years. His feelings for Miriam were always hidden, always wrong. But now, as autumn settles in and hours are shared between fences, fields, and fading light, something stirs again—soft, tentative, undeniable.

In a world stitched by grief and custom, can two hearts find the courage to create something new from the silence between stitches?
