“Beautifully translated from the original … it is a book full of hope and the more young people who read books like this and who come to understand how other young children live, the more this hope will spread.” Books, Teens and Magazines

“Themba reminds me of my own childhood and youth in a township close to a small village in the Transvaal in South Africa: Like him I wanted to escape poverty, like him I had the hope that our world will be a just world one day – and like him I loved my mother who was working at the time as a maid for a white family. To be very honest: in soccer Themba seems to be simply better than I was.” Archbishop Desmond Tutu

“READ OF THE MONTH” Pride magazine

“…an inspirational coming of age drama about a young South African boy’s escape from poverty and the pusuit of a dream.” Spling onliner

“It’s a rags to riches story – a story of hope, of dreaming your dreams and achieving them, and it’s also a story of friendship…” The Sunday Independent

“It’s a really engaging book, and because Aids is a serious issue, it made us want to carry on reading more about it.” Durning Library teenage reading group

“Beautifully translated from the original and it is an easy and straightforward read. However, the storyline is tough – poverty, AIDS and death haunt the pages of the book. The reader learns about the hardship of life for many ordinary South Africans (even after Mandela came to power) and the struggle for those families who have a family member suffering from AIDS. The problems they face do not lie solely in a lack of medication and good nutrition; it also lies in the ignorance of their neighbours and friends and a refusal of many to acknowledge the illness and help the ill. However this is not a depressing book – it is a book full of hope and the more young people who read books like this and who come to understand how other young children live, the more this hope will spread.” Books, Teens and Magazines

🕯️ Wisdom isn't just intelligence, it's a way of life.
It's not a certificate, or sharp mental ability, or cleverness in speech.
True wisdom is when your heart is pure, your thoughts are clear, and your path is aligned with God's will.
In this unforgettable sermon, Pope Shenouda III, the former Coptic Orthodox Pope—called "The Golden Mouth" by many—explains the profound difference between being smart and being truly wise in the eyes of the Lord.
This English-translated message is especially prepared for:
Orthodox Christians raised outside the Middle East
Second and third-generation immigrants who may struggle with Arabic
All Christians worldwide who seek to grow in spiritual maturity, regardless of denomination
🔑 Key Topics in This Sermon:
The difference between intelligence and godly wisdom
The traits of a truly wise person in God's sight
How to live wisely both spiritually and practically
How to walk in God’s commandments with discernment and humility
    📖 Biblical Anchors:
"Everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock." (Matthew 7:24)
"But everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand." (Matthew 7:26)
🧠 What’s the Difference Between Intelligence and Wisdom?
Intelligence understands quickly, analyzes fast, and may solve problems.
Wisdom lives rightly, even if not academically brilliant.
There are brilliant philosophers… yet they deny God.
"The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’" (Psalm 14:1)

OUR FAIRY KINGDOM – ENGLAND 1885
Book 1 of 6 April Awakenings
This story is summarized as follows:
In 1885, siblings Mabel and Leopold Pembroke, aged 13 and 11, secretly explore the forbidden ancient woodland near their Surrey estate, Pembroke Manor. Mabel, scientifically minded, documents nature, while Leopold, a dreamer, sketches its beauty. One day, they discover a glowing fairy ring. Ignoring Mabel’s warnings, Leopold steps inside—and vanishes. Panicked, Mabel follows and is transported to Sylvandale, the Fairy Kingdom. Guided by the mischievous Puck, they meet Queen Titania and King Oberon, who reveal they were chosen to bridge the human and fairy worlds. Through lessons with fairy craftsmen and healers, they learn humility, respect for nature, and the value of all beings. When they return home, time has barely passed, but they’re profoundly changed. They begin challenging their family’s rigid Victorian norms, sharing Sylvandale’s wisdom subtly. Though doubted by siblings, they inspire the younger ones and plan to keep the magic alive, hoping to someday reconnect with the fairies.
This is the first of six audiobooks in the series and I do hope you enjoy it only $3.
The initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 3 minutes sets the scene, so to speak, male vocals, instruments are Harp,Flute,French Horn,Oboe,Organ, Genre is Operatic Orchestral and of course Classical and the mood is Passionate yet Serene. The closing music ends the tale on a gentle note and at just over 2 minutes, no vocals but the same musical instruments and genre but a more serene mood.
The story itself runs to about 1 hour and is narrated by Claire Francis, my wife.
I do hope you and your family are entertained by this audiobook and let me know what you think.
