Sinossi

Little Miss Muffet Sat on a tuffet, Eating of curds and whey. There came a great spider and sat down beside her and frightened Miss Muffet away.    
This odd little nursery rhyme is familiar to us all but have you ever wondered, like I have, about what Miss Muffet was thinking as she sat dreamily eating her curds and whey?  And what are curds and whey, anyway? Her tuffet?  would that be a piece of furniture or a piece of her anatomy?  And of course the large spider, what was she thinking? I'll bet she was as scared as Miss Muffet !!   
  Well, Frank Baum, the beloved author of the Wizard of Oz series, finally tells us the whole story about Miss Muffet and her little known struggle for freedom from the many nursemaids who watched her constantly.  True, her parents were very rich but their sad little girl, Muffet, was never allowed to do anything fun at all like run in the grass or play in the mud as she longed to do.  Will she succeed?
