A fabulously funny take on a classic story from two giants of children’s books!
Goldilocks and her little dog are off on an adventure, looking for that house again – the one with the chairs, the porridge and beds. The sound of the sea calls to them and before they know it, they have found quite a different sort of a house . . . there are bowls, and chairs and sort-of beds . . . plus some rather unexpected and hilarious inhabitants!
From Michael Rosen, the highly regarded author of We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, comes this wonderful new take on the famous nursery rhyme, brilliantly brought to life by David Melling, the creator of Hugless Douglas.
This humorous tale, penned by the award-winning and Sunday Times bestselling author, Michael Rosen, is a top pick for children's fiction. With its unique blend of animals, family themes, and short, engaging stories, it's no wonder this book is a bestseller.
For fans of Ezra Jack Keats (The Snowy Day), Bruce Degen (The Magic School Bus Lost in the Solar System), Bill Martin Jr (Kitty Cat, Kitty Cat, Are You Going to School?), Eric Carle (The Very Hungry Caterpillar), and Robert Mccloskey (Time of Wonder).

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Ella who wanted nothing more than to have magic. Not the kind of magic to cast spells. No, she wanted a different kind. Especially the day that her puppy, Bear, tried to play with the cat.
"Ella!" Her mother laughed when she saw Ella in the animal yard, covered in mud. "What are you doing?"
Ella sighed and let the wriggling puppy go. "He made the cat angry, and the cat scratched him all up, and now he won't let me help him." She frowned at the dog. "I wish I had magic. Then I could fix his cuts up with just a few magic words."
My Ella," her mother said, wiping the mud from Ella's face. "The magic God gives us isn't like fairy magic. Rather, it's the ability to show love. Love is our magic."
Ella began to rub healing medicine on the dog's cuts. "That doesn't make it easy."
"It isn't easy," her mother said. "But you have hands to heal with and a tongue with which to speak kind truths. Practice love, and your actions and words will be more powerful than you can know."
Inspired by the original tales of Charles Perrault and the Brothers Grimm, Cinderella comes to life again in this story of strength, magic, faith, and love. As with all the Illustrated Fairy Tale Classics, this book is brought to life by Kimi Weldon's heartfelt narration, and will inspire children and adults alike time and time again as Ella discovers just how far the magic of love can take her.
Read Cinderella today to create new memories with your child and rediscover the magic all over again.

Despite the fact some Neolithic communities grew to considerable sizes, they’re typically not considered when people think of the first ancient civilizations or the first major cities, so when German archaeologists discovered the archaeological site of Göbekli Tepe in southeastern Turkey in the 1990s, it created an academic firestorm that is still raging. Far from being just another settlement, Göbekli Tepe has been described as the world’s first temple and perhaps one of the locations where human civilization began. Subsequent archaeological work at Göbekli Tepe has revealed that the site was a spiritual center for the local population during a time when humans were undergoing a transition as hunter-gatherers in the Paleolithic Period to a more sedentary lifestyle in the Neolithic Period, more than 10,000 years ago.
Naturally, when European archaeologists began unearthing the megaliths of Malta in the 19th century, they did not know what to think, which led to a plethora of theories, many of them quite fantastic. At least 23 of these temples were uncovered, but because the people who built them lacked the knowledge of writing, speculation over who built them and why remained well into the 20th century (Rountree 2003, 26). Some people theorized that the Malta megaliths were built by a race of giants, while others believed that it was the center of a “Mother Earth” cult that later spread through Neolithic Europe.
On the Salisbury Plain, only a few hours from the hustle and bustle of Central London, remains one of the greatest surviving relics of humanity's ancient past: the mighty stone circle of Stonehenge. Stonehenge is one of the most well-known ancient sites in the world, and an image of it raises numerous associations and emotional responses. Its impressiveness comes not only from its size and remarkable level of preservation, but more so because of incredible precision during an era of simple technology.

A witty and moving take on A Little Princess from an acclaimed author about the friends and family who can be found in surprising places

Penelope has been all over the globe, from the tippity top to the bottomitty bottom, traveling alongside her godmother, the super celebrity Queenie Bee. And she’s done things most kids never dream of, like feeding giraffes, exploring real glaciers, and hopping from one five-star hotel to the next. But there’s one thing she has never done, and she desperately wants to give it a try: go to school! So Penelope persuades her mother and godmother to let her attend Idlewild Academy for Girls. There, Penelope’s charm, openness, and generosity quickly win over many of her new classmates. Although some, including sullen Dilly, think she’s a snob. But when Penelope’s mother and godmother go missing, her wealth goes along with them, and people start treating her differently—even cruelly. Is Penelope still special? Is she still the same person? And whatever will she do now? Celebrated author Lauren Myracle delivers a delicious update on a classic riches-to-rags story, both bubbly and poignant, in which friends and family are found in surprising places.
