  When Frank’s wife of many years is killed in a car accident and he is left badly injured, he quickly grows tired of life. No longer wishing to be a burden on his daughters who are missing out on their own lives by having to care for him, he hatches a plan. 
  Heading off out onto the mean streets of New York, the city he grew up in, Frank decides that he will find a way to end his life there without resorting to the sin of taking it himself. 
  However, his plans are thrown into confusion when he bumps into an old friend, Carlo. In years gone by Frank had helped Carlo, who was part of the Mafia, with fraudulent insurance claims but had turned his back on a life of crime, leading to Carlo being demoted by his bosses. 
  Now, the two old friends catch up on past times as Frank’s plans for his final hours slowly draw closer. But Carlo has a dark secret that he has kept from Frank. The resentment he had been carrying after being betrayed by his friend had been allowed to fester and boil to the surface, and now he is about to reveal the full shocking truth of his actions to him. 
  How will Frank react? Will he still be able to find a way to end his life on his terms? Or is that nagging feeling at the back of his mind about to show him something terrifying?

  Remotely Annoying

  This 1 hour, 3 actor, 3 scene comedy is meant to be enjoyed with friends around the dinner table after a good meal and plenty of libations.  
  The premise: The two main characters, Albert and Larry, are 80 year-old twins who have been picking at each other all their lives. They share an apartment, have just purchased a new TV, and are having some difficulty getting it to work. Sounds simple, but things go downhill fast from there and eventually off the cliff when the landlord arrives. The play has a lot of quick back-and-forth dialog so it reads like a comedy routine. It can be performed sitting around the table if someone is reading the stage directions. Actual age of actors is not important. 
  Minimum props required: TV remote, cell phone, two pieces of paper with Awww! and Clap! written on them, two foldout brochures of any kind to function as TV Quick Start Guide and headphone guide. The rest can be mimed. 
  If your plan is to perform it onstage, go for it. You have my blessing as long as you credit the work. Posting a review with a pic of the production would be possibly hilarious, but definitely cool. 
  ​​​​​​​Reviews: The Lansdowne Times might call Remotely Annoying the funniest thing since sliced bread, but nobody thinks sliced bread is funny and there is no Lansdowne Times. However, this play has been fully tested and approved by 8 brave souls who, shall they rest in peace, died laughing.

  Ronald Franklin Saia was born a grandson to a Italian from Sutera, Sicily. Growing up in rural Kansas gave Ronald a deep feeling in his soul for the outdoors. He hunted, trapped, rode his buckskin mare old Beauty, slept under the stars and cooked supper over an open camp fire. He is a real American patriot. While Ronald worked his way through college, he lived at home with his precious mother, Mary, and father, Victor. What a blessing it was for God to have chosen them for this parents. 
  For a time, he worked in Venezuela where he met his wife, Barb. He has traveled in South/Central America and Europe. Ronald's inspirations/poetry are straight from his heart and represent a true appreciation for creation and God's works along with life's experiences and personal observations.

  I wrote these poems incrementally, but collated, edited, and recorded them collectively. A process that was at first therapeutic and then brutally revealing. A lot of the pieces touch upon regret, lost possibilities, and missed opportunities born of trauma, neglect, mental illness, and fear, as well as the desperation that comes when you find yourself searching for hope inside of darkness.What could’ve been and what is, are not the same thing. A lot of my pain comes from an inability to reconcile those two disparate facets of my existence. I know I can’t have everything I want, no one can. But when you are broken, it can be hard to know what you want, let alone have any idea of how to attain it.Thus, I write.
