Sinossi

A great resume will make it easier for you to get selected for interviews.
Your resume must catch the attention of your future employer within 5 or 6 seconds of looking at it. With the help of internet, you can apply for many jobs in a very short time, which is great. The downside is that everyone else can do the same.
Having to compete with so many other people, if you want to be selected for an interview, you must possess a resume that stands out from the other applicants.
I call it a “5 to 6 seconds” resume. This is the average time spent on each applicant’s resume by an employer to decide whether they going to select the applicant for an interview or not. That’s how good your resume must be.
If you think that your resume is that good, then you don’t need to buy this book. For anyone else, you won’t regret the investment.

Ken Blanchard's phenomenal bestsellers, such as The One Minute Manager® and Raving Fans®, have made him a globally recognized business legend. Now, he has joined with noted business author Steve Gottry to explore one of the most common and insidious problems plaguing the workplace -- procrastination.
The On-Time, On-Target Manager tells the highly recognizable story of Bob, a middle manager who tends to put things off to the last minute. He misses deadlines, rationalizes, justifies, and tries to explain. Luckily, Bob is sent to his company's CEO -- a new kind of CEO -- the ""Chief Effectiveness Officer"" -- who helps him deal with the three negative side effects of procrastination: lateness, poor work quality, and stress to himself and others. Bob learns how to overcome procrastination, and transforms himself into a productive On-Time, On-Target Manager through the Three P strategy.
With this engaging parable, Blanchard and Gottry tackle the problem of procrastination head-on, offering practical strategies any professional can immediately put into practice to improve his or her performance.

The latest surveys show that over 90% of all organisations use talent measurement processes and that the $4 billion global talent measurement market is growing steadily each year. The records also show, however, that this investment by organizations is having remarkably little impact.  And while plenty has been written about best practice about which methods are best to use in which situations--there is little if anything on why these methods are having so little real world  impact. This book fills that gap.The authors are part of a small group of people who combine a deep technical knowledge of talent measurement with first-hand experience of developing and implementing talent measurement strategy at a senior level in big multinational businesses. Drawing on current research and the authors vast experience working with such global companies as Sony, Prudential, Novartis, Nike, among others, the book makes six key points: Talent management and talent intelligence depend upon talent measurement Current talent measurement activities are failing to have a significant real world impact Talent measurement is tough to do  To improve the efficacy and impact of talent measurement, organisations and vendors need to start considering context more and start thinking in terms of talent matching Organizations need to be more specific in measuring performance so that vendors can make better talent measurement tools Organizations need to start worrying less about which tools to use and more about how they use them

In the modern economy, businesses must have heart The marketing industry is broken. Consumers are tired of interruption, push, mass media and the manipulation of marketing and advertising generally. They want to deal with honest, ethical companies that have heart and purpose and that care about serving all their stakeholders instead of their pockets. Conscious Marketing proves that marketing can really work if the paradigm is shiftedradically. In Conscious Marketing: How to Create an Awesome Business With a New Approach to Marketing, author Carolyn Tate demonstrates just how beneficial this shift can be. By practising the four tenets of conscious marketing, companies can raise their brand's profile and attract customers for life. The book shows how building a business with a higher-purpose can lead to sustainability, profitability and industry leadership. Conscious marketing works for both multinational corporations and cash-strapped small business alike. In the modern market, a business that does well and contributes to the elevation of humanity and the planet attracts the best customers, employees, suppliers and investors. These people evangelize, and the brand reach expands exponentially further and to a more loyal audience than traditional marketing will ever capture. This concept and other topics in the book include: What's wrong with marketing and why it doesn't work What "conscious" means to the consumer, business, leader and marketer The who, what, why and how of conscious marketing Navigating the shift from traditional to conscious practices The book includes a three-part guide to crafting an actionable plan, including where to find help. Marketing doesn't have to be the budgetary dead weight it has become. It can be fun, human and inspiring for everyone involved, but change requires a deep shift in thinking and behaviour that goes way beyond the transaction or the sale. To stay relevant in the modern economy, businesses must show what's at their core, why they do what they do and why it matters. Conscious Marketingis a comprehensive guide to fixing the problem, with a sustainable solution.
