Sinossi

“The Gambler” - a story about the passion for gambling, to which the writer himself was subjected.The main character of the work - Alexei Ivanovich, a home teacher, in love with the stepdaughter of the head of the family, Pauline. In order to help her, he begins to play roulette. Gambling, all-consuming passion for the game, vicissitudes of fate and love collisions involve the heroes of the novel in a mad and endless whirlpool of events that take place at a fashionable resort in Germany.
