  Fernando Pessoa è oggi un classico della letteratura mondiale e a tale riconoscimento ha certamente contribuito la più polemica delle opere di critica letteraria degli ultimi trenta anni: The Western Canon, di Harold Bloom. E se Bloom include Pessoa — il «Whitman rinato», come lo definì — nel suo canone ristretto di 26 autori dell'Occidente (di cui Pessoa era l'unico a scrivere in lingua portoghese), ciò si deve al fertile scambio di idee tra Bloom e una delle lettrici più attente dell'opera del poeta di Lisbona: Maria Irene Ramalho.
  I lasciti intellettuali di Ramalho e di Bloom mostrano visioni teoriche e ideologiche divergenti quanto alla costruzione del canone letterario. Ma entrambi convergono nell'ammirazione per l'opera di Pessoa e, in particolare, in un confessato fascino per il suo eteronimo più prolifico, l'irascibile e scandaloso Álvaro de Campos, l'ingegnere navale nato a Tavira e formatosi a Glasgow, nel quale Pessoa depositò tutta l'emozione che negava a se stesso, e in cui proiettò un genio impari della poesia d'avanguardia del primo trentennio del XX secolo.
  Odi Sensazioniste, Saluto a Walt Whitman e Ultimatum di Álvaro de Campos, antologia delineata nella primavera del 2019, pochi mesi prima della scomparsa di Bloom, è al contempo una bella testimonianza dell'amicizia e della collaborazione intellettuale tra Maria Irene Ramalho e Harold
  Bloom e un contributo fondamentale alla divulgazione e alla comprensione dell'opera di Álvaro de Campos, l'alter ego di Fernando Pessoa fino alla sua morte, avvenuta nel 1935.

  Un approccio all'addestramento di un cane adulto 
    
    
  L'arrivo di un cane adulto in casa richiede tanto impegno da parte vostra e della vostra famiglia quanto quello di un cucciolo. È un errore pensare che solo perché il cane è cresciuto ed è stato addestrato al vasino in una casa, si adatterà immediatamente anche al programma di eliminazione della tua casa. Questo non è realistico. Il cane ha molti adattamenti al suo nuovo ambiente e non sa istintivamente che urinare sul pavimento non è permesso, soprattutto perché il suo precedente padrone non se ne preoccupava o non sembrava preoccuparsene. 
    
  Non fare l'errore di supporre che, poiché è un cane adulto, "saprà" semplicemente cosa fare. Inizia con lui come se fosse un cucciolo e insegnagli gradualmente la routine dell'orario del vasino a casa. Probabilmente dovrai iniziare con l'addestramento alla cassa o la limitazione a un solo vasino. Successivamente, stabilisci un programma per le pause per il vasino. I cani adulti sono molto esigenti nel trovare un posto per fare i loro bisogni all'esterno che sia lontano da dove giocano, così come non amano fare i loro bisogni vicino a dove dormono o mangiano. 
    
  Aiutalo a trovare quel punto nel cortile o all'aperto quando cammini e riportalo lì per le successive pause per il vasino. Devi monitorare le pause per il vasino per diverse settimane per imparare i modelli di eliminazione del tuo cane.
