Sinossi

Permaculture Principles offers a transformative approach to sustainable agriculture by presenting a comprehensive framework that aligns farming practices with natural ecosystem patterns. This practical guide demonstrates how observing and working with nature can create resilient, self-sustaining agricultural systems that require minimal external input while maximizing productivity.

The book's unique strength lies in its integration of four decades of research and real-world applications across diverse climates, making it valuable for both beginners and experienced practitioners. The book systematically develops its core concepts through three fundamental pillars: ecological design principles, water management strategies, and soil regeneration techniques.

Drawing from both traditional ecological knowledge and contemporary agricultural science, it presents evidence-based approaches through practical examples and case studies from successful permaculture systems worldwide. Readers learn to identify beneficial relationships between plants, animals, and landscape elements, creating productive environments that support biodiversity and build soil fertility naturally.

Moving from foundational concepts to practical implementation, the book addresses specific design strategies such as food forest creation, water harvesting systems, and integrated pest management. It particularly excels in providing climate-appropriate solutions for different regions, acknowledging that permaculture principles must be adapted to local conditions.

The content remains accessible throughout, using clear explanations and practical examples to bridge the gap between complex ecological concepts and their real-world applications in various settings, from urban gardens to large rural properties.

Parikramā means pilgrimage. This book is a compilation of all the places of Pilgrimage in Europe, Prayag, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Navadvipa, Jagannatha Puri and Vrindavana that I have personally visited. In these specific places are unique and wonderful deity forms of Kṛṣṇa called arca-vigraha. It is to contemplate, remember and deepen the connection to Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Lord, whom I worship in the form His arca-vigraha, or bonafide Deity form.
The beautiful Śrīmad Bhāgavatam (11.27.44-45) describe the festival of Deity Worship:
“Singing along with others, chanting loudly and dancing, acting out My transcendental pastimes, and hearing and telling stories about Me, the devotee should for some time absorb himself in such festivity. The devotee should offer homage to the Lord with all kinds of hymns and prayers, both from the Purāṇas and from other ancient scriptures, and also from ordinary traditions. Praying, “O Lord, please be merciful to me!” he should fall down flat like a rod to offer his obeisances.”
Deity Worship, or Arcana, is a festival for the senses, because one can see the Supreme Lord, touch His Lotus Feet, dress Him, feed Him and offer everything to Him. Especially recommended for the neophyte, Deity Worship goes hand-in-hand with the other eight limbs of devotional service, namely hearing, chanting, remembering, serving His lotus feet, offering prayers, being a servant, making friends and surrendering everything for the pleasure of the Lord.
Writing about Kṛṣṇa is also sravanam, kirtanam, Kṛṣṇa Smaranam, and it helps to grasp the unlimited beauty of the Lord. In 2023/24 I already compiled a book about ARCANA, Deity Worship, while being trained as a Vedic priest. This freely available book is meant for the pleasure of my Guru, Śrīla Prabhupāda and everyone who can't make the journey to Śrīdhāma Māyāpur to learn the science of Bhakti-Yoga.

A journey through Britain’s first National Park on its 75th anniversary
On a spring day in 1932, 400 disgruntled ramblers embarked on a 'mass trespass' of Kinder Scout, a plateau in the Peak District in northern England. Their aim? To establish a right to roam across the rugged landscape, against the wishes of wealthy landowners.
The hikers were seeking respite from the smoky industrial centres of Manchester and Sheffield – and eventually they got what they wanted. In 1951, the Peak District was established as Britain’s first national park. Home to striking dragon-back ridges of rock, vast expanses of peat, farms and villages, cloughs and caverns, the Peak is much more than the 'howling wilderness' described by Daniel Defoe three centuries ago.
With the 75th anniversary of the park’s creation looming, how has this dramatic landscape fared since? Celebrated travel writer Tom Chesshyre hit the trails on a 363-mile ramble to find out – and to celebrate this symbolic home of hiking.
Wild Peaks follows winding paths, pausing at old inns and mountain huts, and along the way meeting a rich cast of landowners, farmers, historians, mountaineers, publicans, rangers, right-to-roamers, homeless travellers, mountain rescue members, mystics, dreamers and fellow hikers.
Don your cagoule, grab a compass, and join Tom as he explores how the land has changed, and how we have too.

On a whim, armchair-atheist Richard Kelly Kemick joins the 100-plus cast of The Canadian Badlands Passion Play, North America's largest production of its kind and one of the main tourist attractions in Alberta. By the time closing night is over, Kemick has a story to tell. From the controversial choice of casting to the bizarre life in rehearsal, this glorious behind-the-scenes look at one of Canada's strangest theatrical spectacles also confronts the role of religion in contemporary life and the void left by its absence for non-believers.
"Kemick's book is that delicious cross between Waiting for Guffman and The Studhorse Man, a rousing personal comedy that dances between the sweat of art and the glue of experience. Nothing like it exists in non-fiction, but don't read it for that reason. Read it because it sticks to your fingers and you can't shake it off." — Dave Bidini
"Well-observed and poignant, this is a fascinating look into a largely unknown world." — Michael Coren
"Richard Kemick spends a summer in Alberta's Bible Belt where it may be easier to find God than a vegetarian meal. There, he confronts age-old questions about belief with near-miraculous freshness, honesty, and humour. A deeply personal investigation of the blurred border between faith and imagination." — Marcello Di Cintio

London is often called the best place in the world to eat – a city where a new landmark restaurant opens each day, where vertiginous towers, sprawling food halls and central neighbourhoods contain the cuisines of every country in the world. Yet, this London is not where Londoners usually eat. There is another version of London that exists in its marginal spaces, where food culture flourishes in parks and allotments, in warehouses and industrial estates, along rivers and A-roads, in baths and in libraries. A city where Londoners eat, sell, produce and distribute food every day without fanfare, where its food culture weaves in and out of daily urban existence.

In a city of rising rents, of gentrification, and displacement, this new and updated edition of London Feeds Itself, edited by the food writer and editor of Vittles, Jonathan Nunn, shows that the true centres of London food culture can be found in ever more creative uses of space, eked out by the people who make up the city. Its chapters explore the charged intersections between food and modern London's varied urban conditions, from markets and railway arches to places of worship to community centres. 26 essays about 26 different buildings, structures and public amenities in which London's vernacular food culture can be found, seen through the eyes of writers, architects, journalists and politicians – all accompanied by over 125 guides to some of the city's best vernacular restaurants across all 33 London boroughs.

"Ever been so hurt that you want to go to one's mama,
and ask why she did not beat their butt?
    Somehow.
You thought the relationship was a lasting forever,
but it was an artificial, long-term shortcut.
You didn't even know what was up.
You were just the Bonnie and Clyde...
loyal, giving peace, a symbol of good luck.
    What God has joined together,
    let no man put asunder.
How you let the enemy use you,
    and put the relationship under?
    Sex addiction. Infidelity.
    Lies. Deceit.
Actions were supposed to be stronger.
The trust is gone, pain exists.
You don't want to be in the relationship any longer.
What happened to getting on your knees?
    Praying to God over miseries.
Having faith and working into victories.
    Not living your greatest fantasies?
    Please.
    Who's the blame?
Depends on how you go about it.
    The efforts you put in
is what you will get out of it.
    Do not doubt it.
    With God,
    all things are possible...
    fight your way around it.
A relationship that God has put together,
    is a long-term forever.
You will know when you've found it." -Queen Pennin ("Color Me in the Lines-A Poetry Collection of God's Markers" 2024)
