Sinossi

"Cerca Trova" is a gripping international thriller inspired by true stories from the world of humanitarian work. The novel follows an international delegate dedicated to Restoring Family Links, searching for relatives separated by war, disasters, and forced displacement.

From conflict zones to fragile border crossings, each mission is a race against time, where a single document, a forgotten name, or a faint clue can reunite a family or close a chapter forever.
Combining thrill, adventure, and deep emotional resonance, Cerca Trova transforms real humanitarian experiences into compelling fiction that is both fast-paced and profoundly human

High Times is the true story of Michael Medjuck, whose taste for weed, women and the good life led him from late-1960s Johannesburg to notoriety as one of the biggest hash and weed smugglers in North America.
From his base in Vancouver, Michael built up a smuggling network that supplied dealers in scores of cities across Canada and the United States. The proceeds from smuggling afforded this former King David High School pupil a lifestyle of hedonistic excess – the finest wines, the most glamorous hookers, the best weed in the world.
In 1991, Michael was nabbed by US federal agents while smuggling an enormous shipload of Afghani hash into the West Coast of Canada. Put on trial as the scheme's mastermind, Michael was convicted and sentenced to 24 years behind bars.
His prison experiences, from dingy county lock-ups to brutal federal penitentiaries, are the stuff of legend. Eventually, a chance remark to his lawyer led to his early release and return to Canada.
After barely a year of freedom, Michael was again arrested – this time in Spain for an ill-judged cocaine smuggling venture – and sentenced to an additional prison term of nine years.
This is Michael's extraordinary story, as told to fellow South Africans Roy Isacowitz, author and journalist, and the late Jeremy Gordin, award-winning journalist, editor and author.

Everest the Hard Way - The first...

Everest – the highest peak in the world, the ultimate challenge to a mountaineer’s skill and endurance. It had been climbed before, but never like this. Chris Bonington and his team had ambitions to climb it – the hard way. Yet before Bonington and his team set out in August 1975, even their well-wishers gave them only a fifty–fifty chance of success. The South West Face of Everest had already defeated five expeditions, including one led by Bonington himself. Everest the Hard Way is an exhilarating story of courage, endurance and teamwork. Bonington’s narrative celebrates the big moments and recreates the excitement and danger of the climb with vivid immediacy. He shares the logistical problems involved in keeping a large expedition moving, and the very real psychological ones of balancing and pairing lead climbers and giving each a chance to make the route on the face. He describes the constant avalanche threat which made the Western Cwm more dangerous than the ever-treacherous Ice Fall, and explains how lowering the sites of camps 4 and 5 solved a supply problem and kept the upward momentum for the attack on the notorious thousand-foot-tall Rock Band at 27,000 feet which had barred the way to the summit for all previous attempts. How Bonington’s team climbed on Everest in 1975 bears no relation to how Everest is climbed fifty years on, with endless resources and helicopter support. It was much riskier in 1975. Weather forecasts were threadbare and, although equipment was improving, it was much more basic than today, so the risk of frostbite was much greater for mountaineers in the 1970s. These climbers, the best of their generation, were leading hard new ground in the only style which gave them a meaningful chance of success. Chris Bonington’s Everest the Hard Way is a beautiful, fascinating and tragic story of their legendary achievement.

How To Be Cross Eyed - Thriving...

There's that moment when you meet a new person, and you can tell that they are just a bit disoriented by your weirdness. You feel that familiar little pang of embarrassment and shame because you know how weird you must look to them. You're physically imperfect. So am I. I know that moment as well as you do…

But you don't have to be cross eyed (or have a conspicuous physical imperfection) to enjoy this book. Really thriving requires an uncommon set of barely legal Biohacking tools, social dynamics strategies from the fringes of polite society, and rapid mindset-transformation technologies, which this lifehacking manifesto delves into deeply.

This book is especially for that one or two percent of the population that has a glaring physical defect. Which I fall into. I'm cross-eyed with Strabismus, which you can see below. If you're reading this, perhaps you are too.

This book is about the lifehacks that I've employed over the past 15 years; strategies, methods, and tools that work to help you overcome the challenge of a physical imperfection and thrive.

If you're bored with the tired problem>generalization>platitude>strategy formula that most self-help books follow, you'll enjoy this memoir of adventures, failures, and unexpected successes across three continents. I'll share with you some powerful tools for transformation - Biohacking, smart drugs, flowstate, red pill mindset, and more - with which I've managed to pack several lifetimes' worth of peak experiences into a single decade.
