Sinossi

Description:
In 1974, a shocking secret that had been buried for over two thousand years was unearthed in Lintong, Shaanxi Province - the Terracotta Army of the Qin Dynasty. It is a huge pottery army and is known as the Eighth Wonder of the World. There has always been controversy in the historical academic circle about who the owner of the Terracotta Army really is. However, there is a fact that a strange symbol was retained on the Terracotta Army. After research, it turned out to be two characters - "Mi Yue". Through the vicissitudes of time, the name "Mi Yue" finally emerged again.
She was the first empress dowager in Chinese history, also the first recorded powerful female politician, and even more, a pioneer who laid a solid foundation for the Qin Empire. There were very few records about her in historical books. Perhaps in that patriarchal society, people were unwilling to spend too much ink on a female figure, or perhaps it was because she broke through the moral constraints on women in that era.
From being the lowly-ranked Mi Ba Zi to becoming the all-powerful Empress Dowager Xuan, how many struggles and sacrifices did she have to experience? In the imperial court and the imperial harem, this weak woman who once stood at the top of the Chinese land was destined to become an astonishing legend in history.
In December 2015, the famous director Zheng Xiaolong led the original cast of "Empresses in the Palace" to create another historical drama "The Legend of Mi Yue".

Despite being told she would never conceive due to the toll cancer had taken on her body, Nicola beat the odds a second time and became pregnant to Moody. Raised in an atheist household, Sally Read nevertheless saw images of the Blessed Virgin Mary from earliest childhood—and they remained with her in the most remarkable ways. Conscious of the conflict between her feminist values and what came to be a fascination with Marian art, Read—through tumultuous relationships, loneliness, and distant places—began a unique quest to discover the true essence of Mary. These pages contain the strange, raw, and epiphany-filled stories that led to Read’s dramatic nine-month conversion from atheism to Catholicism. Focusing not only on Read’s life but also on the lives of others who, knowingly or unknowingly, encountered the Virgin, this literary memoir is a testimony of how a Mother patiently brought one child home to her Son—and slowly revealed her own heart.
