Sinossi

Enter the foggy moors of Scotland where a prophecy from three witches ignites a consuming ambition in a valiant warrior. As he and his wife wade deeper into a river of blood to seize and hold the crown, they are plagued by guilt, paranoia, and supernatural terrors. The play moves with a breathless, nightmarish speed, examining how the violation of the moral order destroys the soul. It is a terrifying psychological portrait of the corrosive nature of power and the inevitability of justice.

Step into a beautiful farewell to poetry that forms the culmination of a decades-long love affair.
As the powerful conclusion to a 35-year-long love affair with poetry, this poignant book compiles author Brett C Persson's farewell to haiku, echoing with a bittersweet yet beautiful send-off to a passion that helped support him through his darkest moments.
Weaving together timeless themes of nature, religion, joy, love, loss, death, and the key moments that shaped his life, this collection ranges over the breadth of human experience, bringing things full circle and serving as the starting point for new adventures into the world of literature. Through the minimalist and simplistic beauty of traditional Japanese haiku, this book captures passing thoughts and crystallizes them into vivid mental imagery, painting a portrait with every verse.
With a dash of random haikus to lighten the mood and give readers some thought-provoking ideas to reflect on, The Ending of the Path teaches us that although all good things must come to an end, they often serve as the foundation for new and exciting directions. This collection is a heartfelt book that will soothe the souls of poetry fans, offering a fresh new perspective on experiences that the greatest poets have grappled with for generations.

A contemporary clinical abortion in the spirit of a Western.

The Doctor introduces the gang: The Supine Cobbler (wanted), her estranged sister (dead by hanging), her former best friend (missing, presumed dead) and her apprentice (a turncoat). Together they negotiate integrity in a lawless world. The Supine Cobbler is an unsentimental legend and a true story. It is a hero myth for girls.

Praisefor the productions of The Supine Cobbler:

‘The show is like nothing you’ve ever seen before.’

    – Theatre Reader

‘Jill Connell … is consistently one of the most innovative playwrights in the country.’

    – Vue Weekly

‘The Supine Cobbler is brilliant, subversive and deeply hilarious. The play is about an abortion – but also: waiting, haunting, cheating, hurting, daring and the private cultivation of one’s humanity. It is singular and surprising and epic and lean as Bowie. You cannot help but talk about this play. It is the work of a lover and a rebel. To miss it, would be to miss a master in her early bloom.’

    – Claudia Dey, author of Trout Stanley and Stunt

‘I love this absolutely idiosyncratic play. It’s very funny, moving and sharp, and the only work of art about abortion I can think of that doesn’t sentimentalize or simplify the experience, but gets the strangeness and banality of it exactly right.’

This mirror's selfie-proof, a machine that dams back the gloom.
After a brief period of mourning, it was the afternoon.
This mirror is selfie-proof, a machine that dams
back the gloom. When machines dream they dream
of stopping. But this bulimic is all hangnails
      with a hankering to throatsing.

Following the Fratellini Family of clowns, Jeramy Dodds astonishes readers
and non-readers alike. Techniques such as his patented triumph, the Grand
Mal Caesura, along with other favourites, are on display inside. Dodds is a warlock of words, only to be outdone by them, enslaved by them, freed by them - maybe even loved by them. A haunting, yet hilarious depiction of a journey to and fro the furthest limits of the human experiment.

A poetic sequence using the 1841 slave revolt aboard the brig Creole as a lens through which to view the vitality of Black lives and the afterlife of slavery. In 1841, the only successful, large-scale revolt of American-born enslaved people erupted on the ship Creole. 135 people escaped chattel slavery that day. The event was recounted in US Senate documents, including letters exchanged between US and British consulates in The Bahamas and depositions from the white crew on the ship. There is no known record or testimony from the 135 people who escaped. Their story has been lost to time and indifference. Quenton Baker’s ballast is an attempt at incomplete redress. With imagination, deep empathy, and skilled and compelling lyricism, Baker took a black marker to those Senate documents and culled a poetic recount of the Creole revolt. Layers of ink connect readers to Baker’s poetic process: (re)phrasing the narrative of the state through a dexterous process of hands-on redactions.ballast is a relentless, wrenching, and gorgeously written book, a defiant reclamation of one of the most important but overlooked events in US history, and an essential contribution to contemporary poetry.
