Summary

Ivanhoe is a historical novel by Sir Walter Scott. Ivanhoe is the story of one of the remaining Saxon noble families at a time when the English nobility was overwhelmingly Norman. It follows the Saxon protagonist, Wilfred of Ivanhoe, who is out of favor with his father for his allegiance to the Norman king, Richard I of England. The story is set in 1194, after the failure of the Third Crusade, when many of the Crusaders were still returning to Europe. King Richard, who had been captured by the Duke of Austria on his way back, was believed to still be in the arms of his captors. The legendary Robin Hood, initially under the name of Locksley, is also a character in the story, as are his "merry men". The character that Scott gave to Robin Hood in Ivanhoe helped shape the modern notion of this figure as a cheery noble outlaw.

Other major characters include Ivanhoe's intractable father, Cedric, one of the few remaining Saxon lords; various Knights Templar, most notable of which is Brian de Bois-Guilbert, primary rival of the protagonist; and a number of churchmen; the loyal serfs Gurth the swineherd and the jester Wamba, whose observations punctuate much of the action; and the Jewish moneylender, Isaac of York, who is equally passionate about his people and his daughter, Rebecca. The book was written and published during a period of increasing struggle for emancipation of the Jews in England, and there are frequent references to injustice against them.

    This four-book collection of steamy stories take pain and pleasure to a whole new level. The rich, dominating alpha males bind, spank, and take innocent young woman in all the ways possible. Outnumbered and outmatched, there's nothing they can do but submit.

    Obsessed

    April hides her cat ears under a hat and keeps her tail wrapped around her waist. She doesn't want anyone to know what she is. The eighteen-year-old shifter is afraid of her own shadow and just wants to be left alone. That becomes impossible when she catches the eye of her employer and boss, Mateo Kenzo, a powerful Shifter who is used to getting what he wants, when he wants.

    Passionate Alphas

    When Alpha Werewolf Erik goes on vacation, the last thing he expects to do is fall hard for the most unobtainable young woman in town, an eighteen-year-old Cat-Shifter. She's innocent in the way only the sheltered are, unknowing of how dangerous it is to be outside on her own. She must have a guardian to keep her safe. Otherwise, she would have been ravaged already. He intends to do exactly that.

    Bound & Humiliated

    Kristy makes the terrible mistake of walking out of her job, the only way for her to pay back the loan sharks that owes. Well, she's going to pay now. The Vampire King wants her and he's not stingy with his attention. Being more than a thousand years old, he's incapable of siring his own children, so he has enlisted the help of a Werewolf Alpha who is more than willing to be of service.

    Cruel, Kind Love

    Aria loves her Master Darius. The Alpha Werewolf makes sure she wants for nothing and is always ready to do whatever it takes to make her happy. Except let her out of the house. What she doesn't know is that her Master Darius wants her to the point of obsession, wants her entire world to revolve around him and he would go through any length to keep it that way. What he didn't count on is for his twin brother to break into his home and take her.

    ~~~~~ Excerpt ~~~~~
    "Do you know why some vampires prefer human blood, Kristy?"
    "We're delicious?" she answers faintly. She feels lightheaded already. She definitely shouldn't have climbed into the car, no matter how intimidating Peter looks.
    He makes an appreciative sound, like he's thinking about it already and she should really stop giving him ideas about eating her. "Yes, and your blood isn't mixed with whichever animal Shifters are half of. Shifter blood tastes and smells like animal blood, you see. Vampire blood tastes stale and recycled. Yours, however, is completely untainted. Completely perfect. Just like you, Kristy."
    She laughs, a little hysterical, hoping the little noise would ease the tension in the car. "Why am I here, Mr. Peter?"
    He sits back and leans his head, eyes closing. Ironically, the sudden absence of his intense scrutiny on her body makes her feel more tense. "Have you thought about our proposition, Ms. Kristin?" he asks.
    She thinks proposition is the right word. He doesn't want just her blood. He wants her body and soul too. She nods. "I don't- If it's about the money, I'll find another job. I'll keep working. You don't have to worry about that. I'll- I'll pay you back."
    He chuckles. "You can work everyday for the rest of your life and you still wouldn't be able to pay me back everything I'm owed, little one," he says and reaches into the side pocket by the door of the car, retrieving a stack of papers and then putting them in her lap. "Sign these," he says, dropping the pen on top. "From today onwards, you belong to me."
    Deep down, she had known this was coming from the day she agreed to take his money. Right now, she's wishing she hadn't signed away her rights so easily, wishes she had looked for alternatives.
    It's hard to focus her eyes with the nerves eating away inside her, gnawing uncomfortably under her skin with every inhale. "Should- shouldn’t I read these?" she asks, flipping through the pages without reading anything because her eyes are burning with unshed tears and she's panicking inside, heartbeat going erratic, cold sweat forming on her forehead and fingers trembling so hard that the papers shake in her hands. She has to grip it tighter. Even the paper it's printed on feels expensive.
    "You could," he says. "But you have to sign them afterwards anyways. You're already behind on payment and you don't want to know what happens to people who don't pay me back, love."
    She is a little bit curious about what would happen to people who don't pay him back, but she also doesn't want to risk a demonstration. Things like 'complete surrender of basic rights'.
    Anya is in a tough spot. The man - werewolf, her mind supplies readily - is glaring at her with his arms crossed. She eyes the exit. Maybe if she moves fast enough, she can escape. And then what? It's not like she has anywhere to hide. She bites the inside of her cheeks and signs the papers in front of her without knowing what she's agreeing to.
    She doesn't know what to expect when they lock her up in a room with a man who is more beast than human. He is chained to the ground with a collar around his neck and maybe he was handsome, once upon a time. But now, he is aggression and sharp teeth. He snarls at her when she is tossed in. She turns to run, but the door slams behind her.
    "Good luck," is all her captor says.
    She turns back around. Oh god. She's so screwed.
    ~~~~~ Excerpt ~~~~~

    He frowns, and then with one smooth motion, hops onto the table. He squats and leans forward until his face is inches from mine.

    I jerk back in surprise, but his hand shoots out and cradles the back of my head, forcing me to stay in place. I think I hear something from the other room, but I can't hear it because my heart is pounding too loudly, an erratic 'thump-thump-thump' that seems to ring in my ears.

    He leans closer until our breaths mix, his exhales turning into my inhales. I can smell the metallic pang of blood from the meat he had been eating, but beyond that, a clean, musky scent that it wholly him.

    "Hello," I whisper tentatively and watch as his eyes lock onto my lips. I hope he's not thinking of adding me to the menu. The man earlier did say he's never killed anyone before, right? I don't want to set precedent.

    He tilts his head in contemplation and blinks slowly.

    "Hello. My name's Anya. What's yours?" I ask.

    He pulls his upper lip back and stares at me with pupils that look like a sort of aquamarine gemstone. Lovely and utterly mesmerizing. I am beginning to lose hope about him answering when he suddenly opens his mouth. "Leo," he growls and the murmuring on the other side of the room grows even louder.

    "Hello, Leo," I say, surprising myself by the lack of tremble in my voice. The rest of me is shaking badly. Without warning, he yanks me forward and buries his nose in the nape of my neck. He inhales deep, breathing in my scent and filling his lungs with my smell. His hands are on my shoulders now, keeping me firmly in place, which is good because without his hands on me, I am certain I would just melt into a puddle on the floor out of fear.

    "Mine," he rumbles suddenly and slides off the table with more grace than he's allowed. There's not a lot of space between the table and me and he ends up pushing me back until the chair tilts too much and I feel myself falling back suddenly.

    The back of my head never connects with the floor because he grabs me by my arms and drags me towards the bed. "Mine," he repeats, his voice a deep vibrating bass that echoes endlessly in the too-bright room.

    "Wait! No- wait! Stop!" I cry out, seeing where this is going. He's not going to eat me, but it's obvious he's not disinterested in me either. All the people who have shoved me in the room early had expected him to ignore me completely, but it's obvious that's not going to happen now. If anything, he is too interested in me. "Stop- stop!" I cry out.

    He bares his teeth at me in frustration but lets go nevertheless.

    I run towards the door immediately and start banging on it. "Let me out!" I am surprised that he does not come after me but I do not turn around to check, afraid of what I'll find. "Let me out!"

    "He's not going to hurt you," I hear from the other side of the door. "We can let you out, but if you do this now and consider all your brother's debt gone. We'll pay everything he owes."

    Jeremy feels bored and horny as he drives along the highway towards the Paul Bunyan Statue.

    Ariana breathes a sigh of boredom. Her daddy is sitting beside her in the driver's seat—at least he has something to do, driving the car on their way to the Paul Bunyan Statue.

    "Ooh, daddy, pull over!" Ariana suddenly exclaims, sounding excited.

    "Huh?" Jeremy says, automatically slowing the car down. "What is it?"

    "Arrowheads!" she announces, and when the car is pulled over she hops out, Jeremy putting the car into park and then following her.

    He walks over to find his daughter looking around near the car. The road is empty for miles all around. It's just the two of them.

    "I swear they were here!" she says, standing up, looking disappointed.

    "Aw honey, I'm sure we'll find some. Don't worry," he says, and Ariana nods. She walks up to her daddy, resting her head against his chest. He puts his arms around her and give her a pat, reassuring her.

    When Ariana pulls back, it's just to look up into her daddy's eyes. He's looking down at her. His heart begins beating fast, and so does hers. There's nobody else around for miles.

    Jeremy can't believe how he's feeling right now. Ariana's looking up at him, those doe eyes just asking to be taken. He can feel a stirring in his pants already. Of course, that can't be what she really wants…can it?

    "It's nice being with you during the day," Jeremy says to his daughter. "It sounds lame, but sometimes I get kind of lonely."

    "Oh, well," Ariana says. "To be honest, coming home to see you is the best part of my day." She looks up into her daddy's eyes, and he's looking down into hers. "In fact, I…I can't wait to see you," she says.
