Sinossi

Simon Thomas (former Blue Peter presenter and, for so long, the face of Sky Sports Football) reveals how grief nearly destroyed him in his heartbreaking memoir. When Simon lost the woman he had loved for 16 years, the future he'd imagined for their happy family disappeared for ever. Gemma died from acute myeloid leukaemia, just three days after being diagnosed.
In Love, Interrupted, Simon is brutally honest about his journey through grief, and opens up about how close he came to ending his own life. Simon didn't know how to carry on without Gemma; he just knew that, for the sake of his eight-year old son, he had to find a way....
Love, Interrupted is a moving story of love, loss, faith and family.

What are the lives of America's richest families really like? Their nannies see it all . . .When Stephanie Kiser moves to New York City after college to pursue a career in writing, she quickly learns that her entry-level salary won't cover the high cost of living—never mind her crushing student loan debt. But there is one in-demand job that pays more than enough to allow Stephanie to stay in the city: nannying for the 1%. Desperate to escape the poverty of her own childhood and jump social classes, Stephanie falls into a job that hijacks her life for the next seven years: a personal assistant to toddlers on Manhattan's Upper East Side.At first, nannying seems like the perfect solution—the high pay covers Stephanie's bills, and she's surprised by how attached she becomes to the kids she cares for, even as she gasps over Prada baby onesies and preschools that cost more than her college tuition. But the grueling twelve-hour days leave her little time to see her friends, date, or pursue any creative projects that might lead to a more prestigious career. Soon the shiny allure of the seemingly-glamorous job begins to dull as Stephanie comes to understand more about what really happens behind the closed doors of million-dollar Park Avenue apartments—and that money doesn't guarantee happiness.

With her royal insider's knowledge and historical insight, Lady Colin Campbell turns her attention to People of Colour and the Royals. She herself is strongly vested in the subject of colour, being the proud product of one of the most prominent families in the multi-racial world of Jamaica. When she was born there in 1949 that country had, although inadequate, more progressive and inclusive race relations than anywhere else. In her first eighteen years she lived through the transitional period from colonial heyday to independence in 1962, to the subsequent political and demographic changes. Jamaicans hold very dear the concept of their national motto 'Out of Many One People', and she understands the nuances whereby all Jamaicans, irrespective of colour, are regarded as members of the Black Community. Her lack of prejudice allows her to examine the sometimes difficult past with welcome objectivity and refreshing candour, and Jamaica has continued to spearhead many of the positive changes taking place in larger countries like the United States and the United Kingdom. Her book is full of welcome surprises. It takes her unique heritage, courage, insight and experience to write a book as illuminating and hopeful as People of Colour and the Royals. It is a work which she hopes will go some way to healing the divisions of the past and consolidating the unity of the present into an even more cohesive future.

Shattered, battered, mistaken, forsaken, confused and abused all formerly defined me. My smile covered the shame, my laugh masked the pain and the lies made me go insane. Though this is my journey, I know I am not alone. FIGHT represents all those who are suffering in silence. All those who are depleted and defeated. And all those who desperately seek help and hope. This does not have to be the end, but just the beginning. I invite you to live my life with me through these pages of how I went from battles to breakthrough, from sacrifice to surrender and from FIGHT to freedom. I AM ALLOYSA!
